Anyone know the best distance for seedling/veg/flower with these LEDs for autos? The lights came with distance info saying 36-40" for seedlings and 24 for veg and 18 for flower do you think they'll be okay? Just think for seedlings that's quite far away

So i just posted about this in my p300 thread, i had to mess with them a little bit to get it right. First i will tell you that they are a lot stronger than you think. First off how many do you have? One or two of them, also i have them in a 3x3x5 tent and am running 2x p300.

I had them at the 36in mark and was noticing a little bit of stretch so i dropped them and watched what happened. I went to about 21-22 in and it was a little too close for them and the new leaf were dark and slow to start so i backed them off a bit to 26in and things started rocking at that height. The height is measured at the top rim of the pot. From there it is 26in above them. Ill leave them there for now and as they get a little bigger ill adjust as needed if nodes are to tight.

Hey Bro. I've been watching your thread, okay that's cool I'll try that. I have 2 p300's in a 140x140x200cm tent but only have 3 plants. I will play with the angles to get better coverage at a later date just wanted to know about distance for seedlings thanks for getting back to me

You bet man and i thought that you were just wasnt sure. I just talk literal most times, stick around the thread and dont hesitate to ask questions at all man. Well learn together thats what were all here for. This is my first run at LED so it is new to me as well. I have been an HPS guy for a long time until i got the chance to test these lights out. I think that 2 will do three plants well honestly. Im running way over that ATM but its because i am running reg seeds and im a breeder, once the males are located they will be moved out to thin out the heard.

I think an angled in side by side approach will work best for you something like this / \ with them being in the middle of the arrays.

Yeah I've always grown with hps but it's been well over due to get on the LEDs. I've just posted a thread on the platinum forum asking about which way I should hang them.over my pots, would you be able to have a look and see what you think please? I wish you all the best with your first led grow!

I sure will, ill go over and take a look now. And same to you man good luck and ill ride along once you get a thread up and running for the grow. Hope that your journey is as well as mine mate.

the manufacture measurements are just the max height, not the optimum height. Keep them as low as you can and still get the coverage you need. Ironically, the seedlings get the best light, and then the mature plants get less because you must raise to cover the now larger plant, thereby diffusing more of the light.

Aye I agree with you man. I hope I can pull off a nice yield with my first led grow. I have a feeling that I will

Normally I raise my led lights to 32" to start. I slowly roll down as the plant grows the first week or two and I end up near 20-22" for the remainder of the grow. Though the lights I am using now will require a little more tweaking to find a good distance because they have 30W COB chips.
