Hi, I am currently waiting on two seeds. bio diesel mass auto-flowering and a Samara punky lion feminized photo-period.

I am solely interested in growing auto flowering cannabis at this stage in my growing life. so can i get any tips for a brand new grower on what i should focus on in my first grow of auto flowering cannabis?

i own 8 23 watt cfl's 2 5 gallon pots and a bag of FFoF and perlite...

my growing space in a 6x4 closet. white walls.

that's my current equipment i can work with as of right now and will not be able to purchase anything else until the 27th and then maybe only 50 us dollars worth.

any tips and tricks as well as helpful hints anybody can give somebody new on what i can do/focus on through my little auto's growth i would appreciate.

we often have to work with what we have , and what you have will work

only thing inexpensive i would add is airflow , as much fresh air to the area as you can provide without forcing the issue and in turn releasing old (smelly) air to the rest of the world

oh and some kinda food for em or organics to add to the soil , that will need to be looked into locally by you , to see whats available and afordable in your area

best of luck and peace

lets say i know pretty much nothing about food or organics for plants and would prefer to keep it on the super cheap side for a couple grows. what types of things should i look at when i go to places like wal-mart or lowes? (about only places i can go for cheap anyways and would prefer to not shop much online other than a few seeds for now.)

i know im confining my grow experience with all the 'i would prefer" crap but its what i got to work with right now lol.

Well using the FFOF by itself may be a bit "hot" for a seedling, but I've used it a plenty without issue just straight. The good news is you can get on with your grow now as the FFOF should by you min of 3weeks without needing to feed plant anything... Besides airflow the other most important thing I would get for a grow would be a ph meter or ph strips, if you can't be bothered with any of that just use plain tap water left out over night (this "dechlorinates" the water, through evaporation). And use $35 of your $50 allotment and buy Advanced Nutrients Connoseiur a&b. the nutes have some sort of buffer where you do not need to worry about ph, since switching to AN my ph meter gets used mostly to measure my urine.
Sounds like your doing things right though! Your a head of the game. You joined AFN and now have a wealth of information and people to learn from... Wishing you nothing but the best on your first grow... :karma cloud:

buy whatever chemical powder nutes you can get , most lower tap water ph to around what you want your ph to be anyway , unless your tap water ph is lower then most to start with

useing cheap chemical salt based powder food isnt the best , but will work , try to not feed every watering and simply watch the plants , if they yellow or similar then feed more often , not meaning water more often , just use ferts more in place of plain water

yes a ph test kit (good call yoda) , they are cheap , if you jave a hydroponics store near by get a drip kit there , even comercially growing a drip kit can last years and cost about 7 bux

there is a ton of info on everything you need to know , sit back and spend a few hours reading through the site and you should be well on your way with few to no questions remaining

best of luck and peace

Welcome to AFN i would say the FFOF is a little hot for seedlings but what i would do is put about 1/4 the volume size your using into a pot and flush it with plain water, Then fill another pot with the FFOF leaving space in the middle (top centre of the pot) For the soil you just flushed, It will act like a lighter mix for the first week of the seedings life and the bottom FFOF will feed till week 3. You dont have to do it this way but just as you said you have no knowlage at all, i wouldnt want to hear that you have got nute burned 4-5 day old canna :peace:

thank you for all the quick help. ill definitly flush top layer in seprate pot. ill also get the ph strips and i read somewhere lemon juice or lime juice works great to adjust ph of water. basically i read that if its too low then add lemon if its too high add more tap... something like that.

Some PH test strips are useless to be honest if you can get a soil test probe i would say they are more acreate and if anything the PH is going to be on the low side so just get yourself some garden Lime (dolomite lime) its very cheap and will last you ages and ages 1 TBL spoon sprinkle over the top of the soil and mixed in a little with soil it will raise it up but it takes around 1-2 weeks for it to work..
You could also add 1 tea spoon to your feed shake till its dissolved then water..This will work alot quicker but doesnt last as long :peace: Si

thanks for all the advice. another question.... i know of the paper towel germ method as well as just the glass of water method but ive also seen quite a few expereinced growers just pop the seed in the soil and spray the soil with ph controlled water from a spray bottle..... is this method safer for auto's?
