This is all new to me so if I'm way off on things I totally understand. That's why I'm posting here now. I was hoping that the variety of things will make a beautiful plant. How do you feel about that mix? Is it going to be too hot? Or not enough? What am I missing? The mix is with what i could get locally and things I already had. Could I plant the seed directly in the mix? I'm looking for suggestions on what I should do to make this work. Thanks friends!

I’d save that diatomaceous earth for top dressing 1) as a glass shard mine field to deter gnats that lay eggs in soil and 2) if you mix it in with the soil it loses that mine field effect when it gets wet.

Indoor soil pros will be along shortly. My first run indoors so can’t contribute much to your soil mix.

I can't say much about your mix. I think it will be way too hot. Autos dont like or want for very much. Also peat holds water way to long. To get monsters you want a very light soil that dries fast.

My soil mix is 40% happy frog 20% perlite 30% coco 10% hydroton pebbles
I water daily in flower.

You think it will be too hot even at using only a table spoon per amendment? That was 6 amendments which under half a cup. Besides the kelp and alfalfa that I used at half cup because thats what I saw used in coots Recipe. This is 10 gallons of soil. Also with the perlite and clay rocks the soil seems pretty lite and airy to me. Also I make alot of my decisions from researching info on KIS organics web site. I chose peat over coir because of this https://www.kisorganics.com/blogs/news/99806785-peat-vs-coco
I'm not saying ones better then the other. Just the choice I made.

Like i said idk for sure just my opinion. Cow manure is pretty hot by itself but its organic so it may not matter. I know my mom wouldnt use much at all for a whole garden and it thrived!

Cow Manure is 0.6 0.4 0.5.
All plants really need is sunlight and water and through photosynthesis they can thrive cause they make their own food. Nutrients are just a bonus.
