Hi guys...
First of all - high five to the forum, you all have been a great source on the AF culture and tips. I've been lurking for a while now, but just now have found to be the right time to ask some ques... first of all, to obey the forum rules, the answers chart:
Soil Grows - Peat Based
What is your experience level? (first timer, novice, experienced...)
Your Equipment:
Lighs questions disqualified - equipment - the Sun
Your medium:
7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it. (vermiculite, perlite, worm castings...)
- Terramagma, Soil for flower plants, mixed with 1/10 part perlite. One of the containers uses the same mixture, but it was left aside on the balcony, empty, since last year grow. Bear with me, i suspect this is the root of all problems.
8) Size of container.
- 10-13lit. (no info on the container).
Your nutrients and water:
.9) Source of water. (tap or filtered) What's it's ph?
- Tap water, usualy arround 7,5 ph regulated to ph to 6,0 ~ 6,5
10) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...)
- Aquarium test kit
11) Method of adjusting water ph. (phosphoric acid, white vinegar, hydrated lime, PH Up...)
- Citric acid - for PH reduction
12) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule.
- 8:3:4 one cap per liter (as indicated on the fertilizer). Fed them once a week.
13) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering?
- Due to high percipitation in my part of the world (southern europe) not too much - at all. Dirt is moist troughout the grow
14) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...)
- Nope
15) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate?
- Water (including fertilizer) allways ph balanced
16) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
- As mentioned above, arround 6,0 to 6,5 - runnof arround 7,0 - 7,5
17) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray?
- Nope
Your growroom:
Terrace
Your strain:
22) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?)
- Sativa Ruderalis Indica - 60:20:20
23) Is this an photoperiod strain?
- Auto
24) How old is the plant?
- Five weeks (put to germ on 420)
25) In what life-cycle is it? Vegetative, pre-flowering, flowering, rippening?
- Pre-flowering
26) From seeds or clones?
- Seeds
Well, as you see from the questionare above, there is nothing in perticular with my grow here. They have been germinated and put to earth imidiately. Sprouted in jiffi pots, and than transplanted to medium mentioned above.

One of the plants (Left one on the images) had a thinner stalk, and seamed weaker from the start. When i saw that there is a significant difference between the two, i have checked the runoff levels for the first time and the Left one had ph arround 9.5. I have flushed imidiately, until the runoff stabilised arround 7. Before and since then they receive the exact same ratios of water and/or fertilizers within water.
The issues were first indicated when the left one seamed to get yellowish spots on the lower leaves covering the middle of a leaf (arround week 3). Thats when I flushed. After that it seamed weak and i have even put a support stick there so she wouldnt be as weak as she seamed.
So wise AFN team, could you please give me your diagnosis on what could this be? Is it N defficiancy, for this pot had last years mixture in it, and left ouside (in a heavily enclosed plastic bag) troughout the winter? Or it could be a reaction to high ph in the soil it was transplanted to?
Whats my next move? What should i do to make them both healthy green and maximize the yield?
Thnx, and best regards,
Phaze
