PPFD: Dimmer vs Height ??

You can get the same PPFD and DLI with the light dimmed and closer to the plant compared to putting it further and at full power, but from what I've read, the more you dim an LED light, the less efficiently the driver runs. And depending on the lamp design, the spread of the light would be better depending on the distance from the plant... with QBs it's better to have them far than close to the plant for light to spread better.

I go by DLI. 40 ish for seedlings - 50 ish at day 12+

I use a par meter but hear good things about that app

Yes. +/- 2-3 ppfd. That's what I do anyway.

Interesting Where do you measure at the canopy? I’ve been following this using photone app.

Running a hlg 650 bar style light. Light is as high as it can go and at 50%. Thanks I’ve just been trying to figure out if I’m running to much light. And came across your post today. Last round I burned my girls at 60%. Or at least I think it was light may have been nutes still learning

Wow congrats on the 1 pounder. What genetics and how long did it take? I’m still trying to get a 1/4lber. Can’t get over a couple oz’s. So That’s running 50 DLI at the canopy from day 12 on?
