So currently I have two TD on the go in DWC under a 400w metal halide. I was wondering if the crazy rise in ppm after adding cal mag is ok?

I adjust my ppm two the desired level with my base nutrients ( AN jungle juice) to 600 ppm then When I add the cal mag it shoots way up too 900 and im not even adding it to full strength. Will this burn the plants? or is it okay because its not nutrients?

I want to add cal mag becuase my tap waters intial ppm is only 30, and knowing the source of the citys tap water, it is a lake with granit bedrock which means almost no calcium or magnesium is naturally dissolved into the water.

i think you should put this thread in the new hydro section.you dont need cal/mag for the first couple of weeks. i put in 1/3 strenght and it gives me an ec of .4(200ppm):peace:sj

cal-mag DOES NOT cause any burn. its not nutrients, its minerals, trace elements. if any thing i double up on the Cal-Mag. i use reverse osmosis though.
