New Grower promix all purpose

sorry... lemme clarify... the ph of the mix (via soil probe) will read higher as it dires out.. water runoff should indicate where you're at.

if you are running off at 7... you need to come down quite a bit...

:2cents:

Thanks JM. I'm thinking of tossing the rest of the bale and going with something different. I've never had HIGH ph problems before, always low and I'm not having any luck bringing it down. I know Phoenix Rising has been having similar problems with another type of PM (HP or bx).

Yes... I had troubles at first with Promix BX... but learned to regulate my ph well... when I used FF nutes... I switched to organic... and monitor with a soil meter.. basically takes care of itself now... :toke: I keep feed on point. it keeps ph...

the trick with a liquid nute system and Promix (which has lime in it)... is to ALWAYS ph your input water to 6.3 - 6.5 from the first watering...
this bring it down from its natural 7.0 neutral state to the desired operating range

I'm probably going to switch back too AN PH perfect, order some ph down to adjust my water, and also the great white. I'm just going to run one 10" pot this next attempt, swapping the led for my t5, and using cfls only for the first month. I'll need help!!!

Great. That is a soil less mix like the BX and HP that KS and I use, except it doesn't contain any mycorrhizal fungi or starter nutrients. It has sufficient lime to buffer throughout the whole grow and no additional is needed. pH out of the bag should be between 6.8 - 7. With no nutrients in the mix it's up to you to supply them. What were you planning on using? Without any starter nutes you'll have to feed a bit earlier. For mycorrhizal fungi there are several good products like Humbolt Myco Madness or Great White.

I really dont think the PH down will be necessary if you going to use AN PH perfect as The AN PH perfect will do the adjusting its self that why is called PH perfect,:2cents:

Thanks for the obvious reply, but I'm just going to let the cotyledon's do their thing for the first few weeks then move on to nutes, that's why it is called ph down.

Great to know. Didn't realize that,:toke:I use BX the whole grow.
Definitely gonna keep that in my mental cabinet

I saturated the promix with an ph perfect, carbo load, and tarantula, 3 days prior to plugging a peat pellet into it, Run-off was 6.3. I've had 2 waterings since sprout of my little cheese with RO water brought down to 6.8 and have had 6.5 run-off both times. She's looking good and needs a drink badly,,,like promix pulling away from edge of pot badly,,,but I'd like to start giving nutes this time (14 days old) just not sure. I have all my goodies in front of me now,,,decisions, decisions.

Pro Mix has starter nutes, usually enough for about 2-3 weeks, so the added nutes probably weren't necessary and should be avoided in the future. Best to just use plain pHed water for the first couple of waterings. At 14 days I would expect they can use a mild feeding, no more than 1/4 strength of the pH Perfect only.

That's exactly what I did. With the myco stuff, I mixed it with the promix and then potted in a 4" pot. Will the top layer of promix become green or have the fungus growing because of the lights? Plant is doing well with under 2x43w daylight cfls and a 2'x4 bulb T5. Lights have been on non-stop and will be switching to 20/4 or 18/6, any preference? I'm having severely low humidity in my cab so I'm misting twice daily with adjusted water. I'll post pics when my wife gets home.

Here's some pics of the little chees in promix all purpose. She's looking good and is that fungus? The yellow one is an auto jack that was sprouted from seed in miracle grow mc. I've seen seedlings come out yellow and turn green very quickly, but can this really be a severe cal/mag def already? It's growing nicely (5 days old) but what gives? I pheno of the aj is straight JH. need to keep it going. I plan to just use adjusted water and no nutes on it.
