New Grower Proper watering of soil

I've never used smart pots; started out with the air pots. Except for my ebb and flow system back in the eighties, it's all I've ever used for cannabis. Mind you, I'm not saying "they're so good, they're all I ever use", just haven't tried anything else.

They are good. It is also hard to over-water your plants with airpots.
Typically I use a liter of water/molasses for each 3L pot with some runoff.

yeah thats a fine thread man. i only skimmed it but did it cover surfactants? soil dry and roots in it can be a trick to water. you can actually soak the pot until the bubbles stop.just covering the pot. the stalk shouldnt have any issue. overly wet soil that wont dry out easily or somewhat quickly can lead to damping off.but usually its not an issue. few ounces at a time when small,to a half gallon to almost a full gallon at 3 gallons of soil. its really simple. small slow circles around the small(or larger plants to moisten the soil like smaller just can take longer is all) plants/sprouts and its that simple. good water and its that simple. you'll develop your OWN way before long,just follow the simple principles of watering.not too much. ot too little. chems ya need run off,organics not so much. pretty easy

How much you dry out your soil is as important as watering. There are instructions on this bottle it says lather rinse repeat oh shit I've been feeding my plants shampoo. Oh no what have I been washing my hair with lol

Should the circle i make be at the very edge of the pot or halfway between the stalk and edge of the pot?@Eyes on Fire

It should be close when it's young and further out as it gets older. Mature you should do both.

Ive seen some ppl aerate their nutes 12 hours prior to giving it to their plants. Does the extra oxygen promote bad bacteria if all the nute solution isnt used after awhile? I want to make up a 5gal bucket but im not going to be using it all at once.

That's a new one on me. I aerate my water for 24 hours minimum anyway, so I don't know what doing it again would gain for me.

only thing bubbling does essentially is adds O2 and dissipates the chlorine and raises the PH slightly if i remember right. but really not needed if used soon when poured,dont want it to get too stale. water picks up carbon in the air and other minerals so you have to use your water right. But you really only need to water in a circle just outside the diameter of the plant leaves usually.make sure it goes deep too. not really wide,just as wide as the plant leaves and several inches of deep in the soil. and change with the plant as it gets bigger. when it(leaves) are at the edge of the pot,then you water the whole thing.
