Mine never get past orange, I'll have to let the next go longer and see if they turn. They never get past my lips either, but my wife loves them, grew up on them, and has lasted in "macho" contests until the last guy had tears when he finally gave up. I don't know if they were from the Scotch Bonnets or being beat by a petite little lady:)

When I lived in the UK I never got mine to turn properly either. But here down south, it's hot and sunny as heck. We know we are not in hell cos the atrocious humidity is ever present.. So been growing my own supply since I moved down here and they love the heat and I usually pick a last harvest early November. Your wife sounds like my daughter a chilli addict.

Welcome to AFN:styles rasta:

She uses Habanero on everything. She makes a condiment from them with onion and vinegar that I have seen bring grown tough guys to their knees, literally. Yet I gave her the first picked of my present batch of Serrano's that even I can handle and she said its too hot. Can't figure that.

all this talk of chillis makes me want a mexican

Maybe she did not want to hurt your feelings. I love Habaneros and Scotch bonnets but would not cross the road to pick a Serrano - they just don't have the heat or the lovely flavour of a Habanero.
This year I also planted Trinidad Moruga Scorpion cos I was curious to taste the worlds hottest chilli, as of now however none of my plants are showing the classic wrinkled skin effect characteristic of the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion hope the seed bank did not stiff me.

I''ve read about them, over 2million units if I remember right. Double wow. I'm as much into growing peppers as weed. She gets the peppers, I get the weed. I figured the same thing, her being polite but that would be out of character as shes one to tell it like it is. I think its more that shes immune to the habs. I saw the same thing in Mexico with Jalapeno. she just couldn't take it. I'd like to hear when you sample the Scorpions. We used the Serranos to gift the neighbors. Thanks.

Buddha Magnums day 12/13

Okay, this is the last photo of this pair for the next 3 weeks. We are away from Saturday am till September. They will get a watering with Plagron Power roots and Bio Bizz Grow on Saturday morning and we have rigged up a fairly basic felt mat gizmo, as a sort of water wick so she does not dry out completely. We have also lowered the pot into a big hole to keep the roots cool.

They will probably not make it, but who knows.

View attachment 374235View attachment 374236View attachment 374237There is only a days difference, between both plants but the younger one is quite a bit smaller.
