Hello guys, I have a question, I have a box that's 30cm lenght x 40 width x 80 height, is this any good to grow anything, I do have a closet but just thinking about having to drill it makes me cry

11.8" in length, 15.7" in width and 71.4" in height.. You could fit two 2 gallon airpots in there if you lined them up diagonally i.e: one in top left corner, other one touching the other and in the bottom right corner.

Hopefully you're not doing stealth. Then you can mount equipment on the outside (i.e: fan, carbon filter) and use a light like LED or CFL you can maximize the space. Any sort of HID lighting in a set-up that small would run rather hot. What were your plans/thoughts about the space?

You had one measure wrong, it would be 31.5" height, it's 80cms, not 180cms eheh.
Is this still doable?

Yep, stealth is not happening in a space that small unless you're planning a microgrow. My first grow was in a box that was roughly 50cm x 60cm and 90cm tall. Thankfully the plants were short so I had enough height without having to LST or anything. But as wg said, I had to run my fan and filter outside. Here are some pics:

I don't know, it's just that I have seen people grow in pc boxes and even tho my closet is pretty good for what I want I don't really want to drill it but I'm guessing I have too.
I would love to grow it in the box that I talked about tho.
Sick plants btw. I might research a little about those micro grows to see if it fits my needs.

It is doable but not optimal I use 40w x40d x85h cupboard had a 150w hps last run but like others said had to have an external fan/filter. I don't recommend using hps on that scale though, 70w was ok for heat and manged 30g off think different

Look up lowbudge as he has a micro grow that I would be proud of

Yeah, I saw his grow, I'm gonna use a CFL so I think that I won't have any heat problems, how many plants did you have?

2 tops in mine but that was when I had 150w hps in there, one thing though cfl's have there ballast on the bulb and ballasts give off heat with hps I had ballast outside box and it made a big difference in small space, I'm in split mind whether to use pl-l fluorescents next time as can have ballast outside plus fairly good lumen per watt but never used cfls as anything more then to add a little blue to the 70w hps

CFL definitely puts out some heat so you'll need to make sure you've got good ventilation. You need some venting down low for input and at the top for exhaust. You will need to address odor at some point before the grow gets too far along.

I'd recommend two plants in pots 1gal or smaller so that the plants don't outgrow your space. The biggest issue will be height, but the good thing with CFL is that you can have the bulbs practically touching the plants. Still, you may need to learn how to LST if the plants get too tall on you. That's something you can do on the fly if you need to. Make sure to focus on strains that do not grow very tall.
