I have a question about grow setup, which I thought about but not quite sure it would work. So I would need some feedback from the community :D

I'm a new indoor grower and as such I have to think through every process as I go. I'd like to think I have the growing part covered. Made a system that works, but still lack a drying area. You can check out my first grow report here -> FIRST GROW

The first picture shows my current grow system and the other shows a modification with drying cabinet. Do you guys think it would work? The temperature in the cabinet would be relativly high - I imagine around 32'C (90F), but thats ok right? As high temperature would help speed the drying process. But time is actually not the problem, it's the carbon scrubber. I though I could kill two birds with one stone if I put the drying cabinet in the middle of my growing sytem (cool tube at begining and carbon scrubber at the end) while takin advantage of high temps in the venting system. Anyway, the other picture shows the idea I had for drying cabinet. Forgot to mention this system is located inside a built-in closet (on one side of the room), so the modification is stil considered a part of stealth grow. And there's the part with the "dehumidifying filter", not sure if I would really need it but after spider mites and hermis (problems of the past tho), I'd hate to have a beef with mold :howdy:

high heat is not a good thing when drying ur herb. Drying should be slow, keep ur air temperature @ between 65-75 degrees farenheit or prolly in ur case 18-24 degrees celcius. also gonna want to keep ur reletive humidity @ between 45-55 percent; and ur gonna want to dry ur buds in the DARK. "Warning" the faster that u dry ur herb, the less time ur herb has to release and breakdown clorophyll properly. hope this helps. also if u have a small harvest it's very easy to just hang it on clothes hangers and dry it in a closet! make sure that u have a fan blowing and forcing air around; but NEVER let the fan blow directly on the buds... it's not hard to mess up all of that hard work, and effort, time, etc... in just the matter of minutes to hours, during a dry/cure.

oh yeah, when u use a SCRUBBER its best to use it on the INTAKE not the exaust. whatever air that ur bringing in to the grow; ur gonna want to scrub that not the other way around. If ur looking along the lines of keeps the "Odors/Odours" down, u would want to hook up a carbon filter up to the exaust; the carbon filter would be the last thing that u would hook up to ur exaust system B4 the exaust exits ur grow as well.

Welcome to AFN! New grower here as well but pretty knowledgeable about grows (new to autos) I also at the begining of my grow had one HELL of a time with temps and humidity in my grow tent... You Definetly don't want you grow area to be more than 85degrees (at plant level is where you should be measuring temps btw) to help solve this problem and haven't had it since was i put a phresh filter 6"x16" in the grow tent than right ontop of that I placed my inline fan, I than duct it into the aircooled hood (bulb side) than on other side duct to exhaust. What this does is kill many birds with this set up... Idea is that by having fan in tent it will suck the hot air out of tent... It also will creat a negative pressure so you will be bringing in cool air from out of your tent in... This than lowes temp in the tent than lower tent air gets through your light cooling that down which over all than will lower your temps, pulls fresh air in... Havent had 0 problems since... Tent never goes above 82 for me... If I crack a window open and let in the cool winter air it drastically reduces temps... Hope this help. As ft as dry cab and every else I think is not needed... Though that's just my opinion.

Hmm, I have a feeling I was a bit unclear. Anyway, my system is working perfectly, the temperature is around 78F with light on, humidity is around 50% and there is no smell in the room, even if the air is pushed through carbon filter, opposed to pulled in. But the air that pulls through cooltube is much warmer, which would make 90F IN THE DRYING CABINET, not growing. Anyway, as I was told high temperatures are not good for drying, I'll make a seperate growin cabinet with its own ventilation system. I had this idea just to avoid making a new carbon filter and buying new fans just for drying cabinet. Thanks for the imput guys ;)

Oh DOH! I think you may have been clear and me just stoned lol grow area sounds PERFECT! Just hang buds off Hangers in closet....
Sorry

I put a hanging mesh dryer in my grow box between my hps and carbon scrubber, and just popped the buds in fresh off the plant. I'll let you know how it goes.
