Hi evryone, I plan to start my first grow in early april, so I got some questions:

-Why I see 90% of peoples in videos/journeys planting their seeds in pots instead of ground? What you would reccomend? I will use autos if it is of any help for a correct answer.

-I were planning to buy 10 ak 47 auto, 10 bluematic auto, 10 amnesia auto and 10 northen light auto from Royalqueenseeds. Will these strains do well outdoor? And what about RQS, is it a good choice?

Thanks for your time, peace :tiphat:

Hope this helps Paizon
i use pots outdoors as my local soil is acidic and has bad drainage. I also have damp mouldy conditions and having the plants a little off the ground helps a lot. So you should try testing your local soil and see if its suitable. I havent grown any rqs so cant help you. Find some journals with the same conditions or latitude as yours and see what works.
good luck

You will greatly increase your chances of having a successful grow by starting your plants indoors, then transplanting them outdoors once they have 3-4 nodes, or leaf sets. Weed likes soil temperatures well into the 70s for good germination. Depending on where you live, it's very likely that your soil temps in April won't be anywhere close to that. By starting them indoors you will greatly increase your chances of having a high germination rate. Also, outdoors at that time of year can be harsh on young seedlings. Letting them get a little bigger indoors first will greatly enhance their chances of surviving and growing well.

I also use pots outdoors, mostly 3 gallon ones. I've tried it both ways and get better results in pots.

I would say to treat them in a similar way to tomatoes, if you would just sow the seeds direct then you will probably be fine (although tomato seeds are a great deal cheaper).

I found Auto Amnesia to be the poorest of all that I grew last year, but you may have a better climate...(see the thread on observation of autos in a poor climate)
