Grow Mediums question for the hydro experts

I posted this yesturda on the live help thread and I didnt get a response from any hydro people.
Hoping I can get some opinionsH
ELP> MY POWER IS OUT. how long will by girls last, and what can I do to help them if this continues for hours???
I am growing in 12ltr buckets, deep water culture. I have one plant that is one week into flush (plan to harvest next week) and two more that still have a ways to go (figure another 4 weeks)
and three little babies that are only a couple weeks old. They are in the dark period so lack of light wont be an issue (as long as power comes back soon) but I am concerned about the lack of oxygen with the air pumps out.
How long can they can be left this way before I need to take some action, and what could I do? (even if power comes back, would be good to know for any future power outages
GOOD NEWS IS the power came back on within a few hours, but, for future reference would be good to know how long would they last, and if I couldnt get access to power, is there anything I could do to prolong their survival? thank you

IF your power goes out in DWC its not that big of an issue, long as your water temps in the bucket are good... in the low 70'sF. YOur fine. you can got easy 24 hours maybe even 48 hours, without having a HUGE issue. Past that... you could run into issues with the plant. I once tripped the surge protector that my air pump was connected to, so it was off for 2 days. It was fine, didn't cause any major issues

Yes you're good for a while, as boss said, so long as temps are good. Also, as long as a good portoin of the root mass is above water.

Some people grow vegetable crops in DWC with no bubbling, the plants get air from the portion of the root mass that's above the res water line.

i was thinking that too. that the roots above water would be getting air.

if your worried about air go to a pet store and buy a battery back up air pump there cheap and run off a D battery for hrs .

If your plants and systems are relatively healthy, as lb and steely said you are fine for 24 hrs at least, probably 48 hours, but then your issue is really going to be light more than Oxygen.
At that point the plants are going to be drooping pretty heavily from lack of light and your rez will be a little "off" so you want to keep an eye on your parameters once the power comes back on. Any hint of bad odors in the rez, change it.
