AK-47, Gold Leaf, WW.
Hello boys and girls. I had a successful 2 grows this summer and fall. Ist was Ak47 outside this past South Louisiana summer planted 1st July. Easy grow outside; if you don't count constantly fighting spider mites, critters, occasional tropical storm or thunderstorms daily. Looked better than the same bud i bought in denver once. Second crop one was 2 white widow AFseeds. I planted these on 9/11 outdoors. After 4 weeks and into buds, I moved 1inside with a Platinum Pro 450 running full blast 24/7. Used flower power mixes for boost. Wow! looked like a poster child at 70 days. The one I left outside didn't fair as well--mainly (I guess) cause only 10hrs of light and temps in October were running below 55 a lot.
MY Question is: Just started some Northern Light AF this past week. Seedlings came up late, look ok but stretching for light. Moved veg stage light fromn 24" (too high) down to 14" yesterday. Was only running 16hrs on 8 off 3 days ago Now I'm doing 18 and 6, but I'm a type A so now I'm thinking wtf, lets go 24/7 veg for now, and at 1st pistils go veg + bloom lighting. What say you young guns?

I ran my mass built led lights around the clock. Since I changed to Autocobs I am going dark for 2 hours each day to give the ladies a little break from the intense light Autocobs put out.

14" seems to close. I never lowered my old led lights less than 18", maybe 16" max. If you started at 24", I am quite surprised that you got a lot of stretch. I started at 30" minimum.

A pic (light off) would be very helpful.

Thats interesting you are doing so well at 18". I am just doing 2 seedling plants so coverage is not a problem. I had a white widow that I finished for thanksgiving. Had it outside first 4wks., then I got my led and moved her inside for the next wks at 18". Beautiful. Now, I just found several people talking about placing lights inches away...but probably T5 or something weak. This link here says 4-12" for seedlings. I'm going to try 12" for now. No need for a pic=they're only 4 days old....about 2 1.2 inches just starting their 1st dinky leafs. Ill check back in in a day or two. Thanks. https://university.upstartfarmers.com/blog/how-to-give-seedlings-enough-light-to-be-healthy

Do not put a p450 12 inches above... that' too close even in veg and seedling
