Hi all!:HW10:

I have my plants at 4 weeks old today, i was wondering, when should i drop the humidity? is it before the stretch or once vertical growth has stopped at around the 5 or 6 week mark?

Thank you!!

Anytime before the buds really start to fill out and pack on weight. It's later in the grow when the buds are getting hard and thick that the high RH can cause problems with mold. Week 6 or 7 should be fine.

Thanks Muddy. Some valuable advice there. Ive done 2 grows before this one but never used a fan speed controller until now which i am running at half the speed purely for the fact of having less noise but obv it effects humidity too. Perhaps would you run your fan on full from week 6 on-wards just to drop the humidity?

I don't. I use my variable speed controller to control the temps in my grow area. I had to turn it down last week as the weather, and the house temps, are now cooler. I don't have any humidity control in there and as long as the RH in the house is good, so is my grow area since I'm pulling air from inside the house. If anything, I run into low RH in the winter when the wood stove is going and drying out the air. In the summer the A/C keeps the RH around 50%.

I see, that's interesting. Thanks Muddy. I think my humidity has been high due to pulling in air from outside the house to help maintain optimal temps, it's been really damp here lately but on a plus note they have thrived due to this during veg. As the temps here are getting cooler perhaps from week 6 onwards I will turn my fan to full and intake from inside the property as humidity will be much lower than from outside plus I could switch my dehumidifier on in the room. Thanks Muddy! Much Appreciated!
