New Grower question on lights

i am running 2 150 hps in a 2x4 area.would i get better pinatration with 1 400 hps or keep my 2 150s and add a few cfls?thanks in advance

I would stay with the two hps and add some 200 watt cfl's ,but this is just my opinion.

I agree with namvet. That is all.

The hps will give better penetration but with 300w over 8 sq ft you only have 37 watts per sq ft. If i remember right about 50 wpsf is a minimum. That is actual watts used, not like when a cfl say 60w replacement and runs on 13w. That would be 13w of light. I agree with adding cfls.

i dont know about minimum---i ve grown some pretty girls under them ---heres a taste i will add 10 23 watt cfls and see if it helps------
