Question on male pre flowers

So my el Fuego has at least what I have counted 2 male preflowers so far, question is when are male pre flowers to late to control contamination.

I tried to search for hairs really hard but didn’t see any I will have to get a better pic in a bit. There’s a dog lurking around that don’t seem to friendly!

I think they actually might be calyx did a little digging and research(which I prolly should have done before I posted) and what at least I think I have found is that calyx are more tear drop shaped and not nearly as round? I’m still going to grab some more pics though!

On that note. What do you do if a plant hermies on you? Do you get rid of the whole plant or just cut the affected branches?

I feel like cutting them off doesn’t do much they just grow in different areas of the plant even faster sorta like when you lollipop but with nanners idk
