Hi guys!
This is my first grow and I have some questions regarding my plants. Here is a little background:
On 15th January I planted 1x Expert 47 and 1x Critical AK automatics from ExpertSeeds into 10l Air Pots. They popped from the ground on 17th January and I fed them 1/4 strength Cal-Mag for the first two weeks. They shown some nutes burnes on the first leaves, so I cut back and the rest of the leaves looked healthy. After two weeks I started using 2ml Canna Rhizotonic, 2ml Coco (1ml A + 1ml B) per litre. Two days ago I did my first flush with 30l of water per pot, because some salts have built up.

Yesterday was the first time I added 2.5ml Cannazym and 2ml CannaBoost per litre on top of what is mentioned above, as the guy at the Hydro shop told me to start using these. I use tap water for my solution and let it rest 24h before it is used to feed.

The nutrient pH level is always 6.0-6.5 and I am using HydroCoco 60/40 GoldLabel Mix for both plants. Room temperature is around 26.5-27.5C and humidity 40-45% when the lights are on, 19.0-20.0C and 65-70% when the lights are off. I am currently using an EnviroGrow 250W 2700k CFL light bulb and keep it about 6 from the top of the plants (otherwise the temperature quickly raises to 29-30C).

When I woke up this morning, the leaves of Expert looked burned (picture attached) after yesterdays feed. Could it be a nutes burn or a light burn (I also switched from 6400k to 2700k 250W EnviroGrow bulb)? It is a very bushy plant, but at 33 days old it is only 20cm in height compared to Critical AK, which is 30cm. I had to put the pot on a cooking pot so it is the same height as Critical, so they receive the same amount of light. Critical AK on the other side has almost no leaves, they are a bit droopy and is very stretched, but has lots of white pistils. Expert has no white pistils, but leaves a very pungent smell on the thumb if I rub a fan leaf is it pre-flowering or am I too early with the flowering nutes?

Looking at my pictures, do you think that the clip fan is positioned correctly? Should the fan be pointed directly onto the tops so they move like crazy or in-directly so they just flutter? How often do you think I should flush them? The guy at the store said once a week, but I think this will take out all the nutes.

Looking forward to your comments about both plants!

Hi Fresh! :)

Welcome to AFN!
Are you lifting your pots to see when they should be watered? Droopy leaves can be over or underwatering. Water your pots when they are light! :)

How often do you think I should flush them
Canna say this here
Leaching is only necessary if you have an excess of nutrients in the medium. So if you apply correctly, it is not needed. Flushing is done in the final 3-7 days prior to harvest to get all the remaining nutritive elements used up so they do not affect taste and quality after harvest and is done by stopping all fertilizer applications just prior to harvest and using plain water to remove remaining salts in the medium.

I can't quite see the pictures - we're having troubles loading them at the moment while the site is being updated.
From what i can see in the last picture, it looks like you have a minor deficiency rather than nute burn. Typically nute burn would start with the tips of the leaves turning yellowybrown and then if the feed continues to be too high, the brown with spread down the leaf and turn it crispy and manky :)

pre-flowering or am I too early with the flowering nutes?
Yes, if you dont see buds, and vertical grow is still going on -you're too early with the flower nutes :)

Hoped some of this helped a little
All the best
Blue ^_^

ps - why not pop up a hello over at introductions for a nice warm welcome form our members! :)

Thanks for your reply blue!
It seems like I was doing it wrong, I was touching to check if the medium is dry, which resulted in watering once a day with about 300-500ml per plant (watering slowly until runoff appeared). From now on I will lift the pots.

Also, Expert 47's vertical grow has stopped about 2-3 days ago at 20cm and I can see the "bud branches" (calyx?), but no pistils yet. I read somewhere that AK47's pistils are very hard to see, could this be the case?

I just noticed that both of the plants leaf branches are completely covered with purple dots, does this still mean that there is a deficiency? The dots only appear at the top of the branches, the bottom of the branches is green, the main stem is also green. Also the tips of the leaves right at the top of the plant turned yellowish and curled slightly. Should I only use Coco A+B and Rhizotonic and wait with the other nutes for a week or so? If there is a deficiency, what could be missing? (I follow Canna's feed chart)

Hi there, newbie here too, but as a flower grower (non-cannabis), it doesn't look like nute burn or light burn to me, the necrosis on that fifth pic looks more like a deficiency of some sort. And yeah, if they're still growing up don't switch to the bloom nutes. :)

It's frustrating because I can't view the pictures. When I click them it says I don't have permission to view them. Let's see if we can get this fixed.

I get the same problem with viewing pictures - it looks like I get logged out every time I see a new thread. Once I log back in I can see all the pictures. I stopped giving them bloom nutes, only veg and the deficiency signs are still there, but they haven't increased so it is a good sign I guess :) Thanks for your help guys!

You're welcome. Definitely no bloom nutes until they slow the vertical growing. As long as it isn't getting worse it should be fine. Hope you fair well and if you have any other questions feel free to contact me.

Hey guys! I noticed that the leaves always curl/drop down during the last 2h of light, it doesn't matter if they were watered or not. I try to keep the temp at 25-26C during the day and the light is 5-6" away. Is this normal?

Hey fresh. Welcome to auto flower.

What's your light schedule? Try the lights a bit farther away see how you go
My first grow had droopy leaves and it turned out I was over watering them. I usually water 2-3 days..when top soil is proper dry and the pot is light in weight.

Try watering 2 times a week with a good drenching. See how you go. Some plants are very forgiving so don't worry too much. My first grow I broke my main branch..taped that sucker up and she still grew and flowered.
