Since its organic is it supposed to raise pH of water, lower it or no effect?

I know the tiger bloom and grow big drop it but I was jus about to feed my plants just big bloom at only 1 tbs..

The distilled water read right around 6.5 on my liquid drop test before I added anything... After i put the 1 tbs of big bloom then checked it was clearly in the green over 7 closer to 8.

Should I pH it down? I thought you don't gotta worry about that with organic nutes.. I thought it would drop a little if anything can someone elaborate :smokebuds:

If your using all organic nutes there is no need to ph your water so disregard those numbers.Thats the purpose of organic nutes because the plants will use the nutes no matter what the ph is and therfore there is no lockout like with synthetic nutes that get salt and chemical buildup causing lockout.Keep in mind you still should be using cal-mag during the entire grow.:key:

Organic or not, I wouldn't water my plants with anything not in the 6-7 ph range. Sure big bloom is organic, it's still a nute solution, you're feeding it to your plants, not to the soil microbes, so its ph DOES mater. My advice, unless you are using a TLO soil recipe and you do know what you are doing, or you are confident that your nute solutions and soil are in the optimum ph range, treat all your waterings for ph

I'm sorry, but I can not agree with this. If using a well cured TLO/supersoil, the microbial activity has already conditioned the nutes to be available outside normal pH ranges. But, if we are adding bottled nutes as the grow progresses, the pH will still need to be adjusted. The only difference being, that with organic bottled nutes, you may get a cleaner smoke. But, there is an huge difference between TLO and using organic bottled nutes... what works with TLO doesn't translate when using bottled nutes, whether they are organic or chemical. :peace:

So you think I should add acid to drop it down?

And say I mixed it with the distilled water last night and fell asleep, would the pH be different since it's been sitting for a night? (lid closed) :bong:

You should check and see what the pH is before adjusting... always. Once you know how much adjustment it needs, buffer it appropriately. I am using RO now but when I used de-chlorinated tap water and bottled nutes, I always had to adjust upward after putting in the ferts. I used baking soda which is pretty tricky because a little bit can raise the pH too much. So, I would add a "pinch" and re-test the mix 2-3 hours later, being careful not to overshoot. If that happens, you need to start over...

Water/mix that has been buffered, does not adjust immediately. Personally, I do not feel comfortable with my reading unless it has been buffering at least 4 hours... but many are okay with two. It may very well change further overnight but, I would think it would not be far from any reading you may have taken the day before, as long as it had been given a few hours to adjust before you read it. :peace:
