I've read Muddy's "when to harvest" sticky but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Plant: Pineapple Punch Auto.

Ok, I would like to know, if I cut the large colas that are ready for harvest, will the bottom of the plant (bud sites) continue to grow/ ripen? My plants are so bushy that light couldn't penetrate to lower bud sites even using the "tucking leaves" technique.

Thanks..

Ive read stuff where people suggested doing just what you are wanting to do. I would think you could. She wouldnt have time to hermie before you harvested her, it prob set ya back some before harvest to recoup. All guesses here :D Sparked my curiosity lol.

Colas are ready to harvest, just wanted to know if the lower bud sites would continue to ripen if I chopped the tops.

Yes. I just tried this and the left it for another week without the two main colas and there was some ripening of the lower buds don't know if there was much difference in yeild though.

I did this on my last plant where I cut the main colas and then left the lower parts for another 4-5 days.. Seemed to work well to ripen, but I'm sure if I wanted more bulk as ^^^ said, I'd probably have to have left it for another 2 weeks or so to achieve the maximum benefit..

Yes, you can do a staggered harvest. The lower buds will continue to ripen. Personally I prefer to harvest everything at the same time. Given me a bit of a different stone between the more and less mature buds.

No no a in derby huh, Muddy? U talkin roller derby? WFTDA and all that?

I have 3 plants to experiment with so I'm going to chop the tops on 1 plant and harvest the other 2 at the same time. Thanks to all...
