Grow Room Quiet Inexpensive Air Pump?

What do you consider quiet? I have yet to come across an airpump that is actually "quiet" they are all pretty loud if you ask me. Here is a good site that has several different kind of pumps. What kind of system do you have? IE how many gallons and how many sites as this is important info when selecting an air pump.
Anyone care to chime in on Quiet Air Pumps. Information on Brands, Models, Cost and Source will be greatly appreciated.
I picked up a couple Fluvals over the summer. A model Q1 and a Q2. I'm getting a couple more to replace my other pumps. You won't find any quieter!

Killing them softley
Thanks Derek & pop, I have 3gal to aerate. I'm testing my insulated res with the ice probe chiller installed. I've been running an EcoPlus 2 in the res and my ears are beginning to ring it's so loud. Cheers!

I have 2 pumps in my room and I had to put them in a cabinet with a pillow covering the opening because they were so loud. I have seen people build sound dampening boxes(which I am thinking about doing) with a box of some sort and place the air pump inside and insulate around it with whatever like paper or insulating foam or blankets, then just provide a snorkle for the air to suck in and close the box up. From what I have seen and read in makes a huge difference.
The problem with insulating vs damping is the heat will buildup and kill the pump. Get a peice of medium hard foam from a craft store and set the pump on that, it will help a lot. Look in youtube also, you can hotglue the pump to the housing and that will dampen much of the noise.

Both my pumps get HOT no matter what I do lol. I literally have to wait until they cool off(well the metal one any way) I have mine on top of a towel as well, but they aren't as loud as my 2 6" inline exhaust fans so I don't worry that much lol. It sounds like a jet airplane is taking off in my grow room hahaha.

Thanks everyone. AnanKofan I'll take a look at the EHEIM pump. My current grow is not a problem as it's out of earshot most of the time. I am however building another tent that I plan to keep in my living space so I am trying to quite everything down. I'd also like to swap out the fans in my LED. If anyone has any advice on quiet ventilation fans and quiet computer fans I am all ears!:tiphat:
