Get in!
This is my first thread in the Mephisto section. I've tried a few breeders now, and I have to say I am super impressed with this company. My first shot at Mephisto was a Gold Glue, a very relaxed smoke. The growth was minimal however and I'm thinking it has something to do with the coir pellets I was using. After examining the roots of my last few plants, the roots all seemed to be fairly thin compared to the plants I hadn't used the pellets with.
For this grow I've decided to soak the seeds for 12 hours in RO water with a drop of GH Rapid Start(for good measure) and straight into the final pots(precharged with 210 ppm of nutes). I expect the roots to be much thicker and healthier this way. Also I've added some temp/humidity controllers and will be monitoring the humidity much more closely. I've also added a potentiometer to adjust the amount of light; this is going to be a sort of test, since I need the heat, but I also don't want to fry the plants with too many COBs in such a small space. We're working with a 4X2X5 foot tent, 200 max watts of 3500K COBs.
Alright, alright, so Raoul, what are you growing? Well friends, we're going with Mephisto's new line of Artisinals. I can only grow 3 plants in this space(and if things go well, it may be too many) and Mephisto released 4 new Artisinal strains. For the sake of variation, and because I just grew an OG Kush, I'm going to leave the Samsquanch OG out of this grow. That's right folks, we're going with Cosmic Queen, 4 Assed Monkey, and Creme De La Chem. Very excited for this grow, and if everything goes well, I'll have a nice mix of potent meds for everyday life.
We're going to be monitoring our environment closely here. I've installed a new humidity controller to complement the heat controller, and we're going to try to fine tune our environment even more. Right now, I'm keeping temps in the tent between 25 and 29C and humidity is around 60-70. I'll set up the humidifier as soon as I see action and we should really start having a controlled environment. The only thing I'm not prepared for is too much heat, and since it's -10 to -20 outside, heat really shouldn't be a problem. I have a really good feeling about this grow, so wish me luck.
I'll get some pics up shortly once we have lift off.
As always, cheers.
P.S. Been drinking and smoking so I'm sure I've left something I wanted to mention out.
