Hadn't heard of this until it started coming up in the Denver news. Interesting flower. From what I've read, they can take anywhere from 7-20 years before they will bloom, and then maybe as long to bloom again. Smell wasn't what folks in Denver were hoping for (supposed to smell like a rotting corpse), for better or worse. :)

Fun Fact: Sir David Attenborough gave this plant it's common name of "Titan Arum" because he refused to call it the amorphophallus titanum on the air (latin for "Giant, Misshapen Dick").
