Closest I ever been to a strike was when the lightning hit a cable that may or may not have been used to bootleg cable but it was cut and one end nailed to a tree and it ran 800 feet when it hit it was a bright orange and it shook the ground woke up my mom she called me said what was that I said I think it was lightning
Then said call pawpaw cause there's a line of fire in the trees going all the way round the hill lucky it wasn't attached to anything on the other end

I was driving a dual wheeled Hyster 35 Ton Forklift in Florida many years ago and a bolt jammed right next to me.I swear for a second I thought I was dead..lol.blind,deaf n all fuzzy lol living in FL. ya see a ton of strikes very close all the time.nooo fishing in Central/Southern FL when there are strikes about.lol."AFN smoke out" thats some seriously crazy stuff man."AFN smoke out""AFN smoke out"

GA... I watched a documentary on survivors of lightning strikes... I think what you posted happens on parts of your body that are wet. Crazy shit can happen with your brain... Hell one guy was right handed and became left handed... Either way I don't wanna find out.
Then after we got home another round came thru and we had 3 strikes nearby and it was intense. Felt the damn couch shaking! Windows... The glass in our huge living room clock was shaking. That's new... Damn solar flares and global warming...

Just went to water the babies and we have the first 3 to pop out! The Sweet Seeds gear. 2 Ice Cool and 1 Trainwreck.

Just watered the babies and 2 more Buckeyes are out! 5\6 Buckeye Smash so far... Germ rates have been fantastic so far on them. For me and the few others that have grown them or attempted to... Oddly enough no one but me has ever grown them all the way thru... Not to the fault of the Buckeyes but something always happened to them on the outdoor grows... Bugs, weather, pH issues... No one but me has ever done them indoors...

yeah, lightening,... only thing I miss about FL! ... it's damned impressive when it's kinda close (little to no time between flash and boom), but I had my close encounter that was no f'ing fun-- standing in the doorway of my apt.!! ...and watching the squall line on the weather channel -LOL! My view out the door was less than 15' into a wooded area, but when it struck, it was like nothing else I experienced with it before-- :no: It had to be within 50' of me...? Hand to god, the flash was like being inside a old camera flash cube, utterly encompassing,... and it made a sound, I'm sure of it!... something akin to what hot metal makes- *ting*-- but that barely registers because the crushing boom is all but simultaneous, and talk about brute percussive pressure!! This was the truly scarey part, a most disturbing sensation-- like being hit with an air-fist,.. only way I can describe the sensation,...the sound, the air pressure combined--- whoa!! --knees buckle, arms flail, all long after the fact- :roflcry: ...oh, don't forget the slight ozone smell too,...:no: VERY BAD sign it was really that close! Now I know why they say to not use a connected land line phone,... folks have been nailed right through the receiver! Space Brudda-- those are some choice pics mate! The golf courses have dug up similar shaped tubes of flash fused sand grains from under the grass!!... only much larger,... they say many of the strikes on courses are indirect, from the bolt traveling through that nice ion-loaded wet ground, right up into the person from below,..."Swivel" that's cheating man- LOL!
