Newbie question, I'm growing my first baby.
Do you pre-water the soil to give them a nice moist all around before planting your seed?
I think i made the mistake and didnt pre-soak my soil before i planted my seedling now that its time to feed, I feel like I might be over-watering them
I pour 2gallons into the soil and yet they don't completely soak and goes right thru the soil.
Should keep watering to make sure all the soil is wet? I don't know what to do, I might just wait it out and see how the seedlings react.

Hey uclssm! Thanks for your kind words friend! You're too kind! I always pre soak my bags/soil... Specifically what I do is fill em up... Spray the top soil down real well, water them real good as you WANT moisture in the bags... When the tap root comes out it searches for moisture. And will go down searching for it. That's what you want. But you don't want TOO much or it will drown basically.

How big are your pots? I understand you are pouring 2 gallons into each pot/bag?? I need to know how big your pots/bags are to help you there... What I would do right now is keep the top soil moist. Get a spray bottle and spray it down. Don't over water. If you water lightly once a day on the area where you planted and around the area you should be fine... As it comes out it should be fine as long as you keep the area around it and where it is moist. And I say MOIST meaning you don't have to soak em. I wouldn't continue to keep pouring water in there as you may have adverse results... :smokebuds: Hope this makes sense my friend... I'm bad at explaining things. lol

Auto Kaya 47 showed pistils @ 11 Days!! Personal Record Broken...

I don't think i'm going to water them for the next couple days, seems like I might have over fed them.

I would wait and let them dry out a bit... stick your finger into the dirt around the area where the seedlings is/will be... if it's still moist you're good. If it's real dry then give em a little drink. Little meaning like a half a cup of water... That is the #1 New Grower mistake... Over watering... I've done it bro, we've all done it. Just take it easy on the watering until they get bigger/bigger root development then they will definitely drink more. Full grown in 1 gallon grow bags my girls take about a half gallon to 3/4 gallon when they drink/eat. I know 1 gallon will get me to feed/water 2 plants, in my set up. Once you grow more and get experienced with your own set up it will become second nature to get a seedling to a plant with no stress. :thumbs:

:group: I THOUGHT I saw pisitls on the Jock Horror but upon closer inspection with my loupe it was a false alarm... looks to be pre flowers so that makes me optimistic this will Auto *knocks on wood* Good thing I ain't superstitious!


Forgot to add... I GOT DIRT!!! The 2.8 cu ft bag of Promix BX... not my usual bale but will get me through this run!! Also didn't have to go but a few miles from the house to get it! Score!! Soooo... Next update will include confirmations of these beans in the dirt...
