Recomendation needed

Hello, I have a 3x3 tent and 400w HID.

I want to downsize to a 2x2 tent with a mars 2 400w. I purchased a 24" x 24" x 48" tent.

I'm concerned that I won't have enough height to keep this light from burning my plants.

My goal is to just grow 1 plant at a time. Either an auto or a well trained photo.

Is 48 inches of clearance going to be sufficient? I'd feel better with 60 inches I think. Figure the grown plant takes 30 inches of height.


Please give me your thoughts.

I think you will be fine. just take it as it comes. As you say worste case you always have the option to train.

Hi Sunny, we often recommend the hanging distance is:
seedling: 18' above the plants,
veg: 15'-18' above the plants,
flower: 10'-15' above the plants,
so if your tent height is 48" that should be OK with the Mars II 400
