Dear experts,

I have 2 seedlings, one is red poison and the other is med gom. My sweet seeds red poison seedling seems to have a got a light burn from the LED being too close. Red poison was the first to pop out of the ground and was exposed to the intense LED light for the first 2 days of its life…while the med gom popped out of the ground 2 days later and was not exposed to the intense LED light because I lowered the intensity of the LED as soon as I saw that the red poison started to turn yellow. Red poison’s first pair of leaves is all yellow and I think the next set of leaves is also going to be yellow.

Do you guys think I should plant a new red poison and get rid of this one? The LED light must have caused some significant stress to the plant and I think that this early stress will negatively affect its potential and I really wanted to get a colourful and healthy red poison.

So what do you guys think, should I give the red poison a chance to recover or is the early LED light stress going to give me a weak plant that will possibly hermie later on?

Waira, could you please be so kind and help me out again by sharing your wisdom @Waira

Please advise.

Many thanks!

Just wait and see, I get burns every now and then and never saw any lasting damage. In fact, just like with nutes, I push the light until a little burn and then back off a little, i.e. raise the lights.

If you are really worried, plant another seed next to the first one and then make a decision.........haha.......me thinks you'll end up with 2 healthy babes!

Take a higher picture please mate. No don't bin it, you will be amazed of what damage you haven't done. Pictures.

Sure mate, here are some better pics.

So you think I shoul still give the poison a chance? You don't think that the early LED stress will have any negative effects on the the plants future potential?

For 4 days old you will be fine mate. How high are your lights now, what are they, 300w/600w? What are you growing in? coco/perlite?

Thanks for the Reassuring words @Corgy and @Krypt247

I think I will wait for the next pair of leaves and then decide what to do

I have a Hans Panel 150w LED, which is adjustable and is now set to 30W vegetative mode and is about 30 cm/ 1 foot away from the plats. I am growing in Bio Bizz light mix that I have saturated with Mycorrhizae, Bio Heaven and Root Juice before planting the seedlings.
