New Grower Refrigerating Seeds

I also freeze the ones that I'm not going to use right away and it seems to work out for me. I just took 2 out of the freezer recently and thawed them in the refrigerator and they germinated just fine. But they were only about a year old. I think the age of the bean affects the germination rate more than anything else IMO:peace:

I had no idea I needed to refrigerate them... I chose the super stealth shipping method. I have had my 5x Auto fast & vast just sitting in my drawer for a few weeks, would this affect their germination?

I found a couple of seeds in their original breeders pack that were two years old one time. I had kept them in a drawer in the basement and they germinated fine. Refrigerating is probably better but I think if your seeds were in a dry place out of direct light you will be ok.

I throw mine in the fridge for storage at 4 C... of course, I usually store a whole bunch at around -5 for a few months, then at nearly -20 for a while, too, and they seem to sprout just fine.

Those frozen ones are usually under an inch or two of dirt outdoors where I live, then they sprout in the spring, like last week.

Cold is good. Stops bugs, mold, and the not often mentioned endospores.
