New Grower Requesting LED guidance.

Something which concerns me about California Lightworks is that they don't provide the number of LEDs dedicated to each spectrum. In other words, you can't make an objective comparison.

I contacted them and, frankly, felt my intelligence was insulted. They said it's confidential --that their competitors would "kill for this information." When I pointed out how anyone with their light could look into it with shade 5 to 10 welding goggles to count the number of colors per LED, they simply insisted nobody could do this (when I've done it).

Blackstar, Cidly, LG/TopLED, Fero, Grow Northern, et. al. provide this info. So... when someone says it's a "secret sauce" it makes me wonder what I'm really buying.

I know CLW has many happy customers. The same can be said for the other manufacturers.

The thing which turned me off about CLW was their irrationality. I can understand the investment they have in choosing their spectrum ratio. But, it's not a secret. When I pointed out how anyone could look at the light through welding goggles, they simply insisted "no they can't."

May be a fine company (and product) in every other way. But, I choose to support companies who are more transparent about what they're selling.
