As some of you are aware my father passed last Friday and I had to hop on a plane from the UK to the USA.
so here I am in sunny Long Beach California trying my hardest to get everything arranged before I have to fly home again.
well I've come to a kind of halt in the proceedings as a death certificate has to come from the coroners office in Orange County.
So whilst I have a few days and a desperate need to get out the house a road trip in the memory of my dad has been decided.
I'm headed north up the 101 pch yo a place called Morgan hill where he had friends.
so if any of you fellow AFNers live along this route feel free to jump out in front of us and share one.
I'm going to do a record of my journey so look out for pics

Good call....

And a good place to do it :)

Wish I lived closer brother, I would road trip with you. Seeings I am quite a ways away I will just leave you with this old saying. Not really meant to be religious unless you prefer it to. Just saying, that wind on your back is us pushing you along.

May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.

I'm on the right coast or I'd roll us one and have a cold one waiting. I'm in my 50s and my old man is still alive. Not looking forward to the inevitable. Godspeed brother

I'm really sorry for your loss bro. I have heard a quote on a tv show a few months back that made a tremendous impression on me. It is somewhat direct but comforting at the same. I have also lost a few really close relatives and friends and these few words really hit home when I heard them.

"There is nothing that can take the pain away. But eventually, you will find a way to live with it. There will be nightmares. And everyday when you wake up, it will be the first thing you think about. Until one day, it’s the second."

Take care my man...and have a safe trip..

I am sorry for your loss, I lost my father about 3 weeks ago and I am also doing something to remember him by. He is the reason I was able to move to Colorado and get me started doing what I love. I am taking some of his ashes and putting it in each one of my grows until they are gone(he really believed in the Willie Nelson song Roll me up and Smoke me when I Die). As you go along this trip remember the good times and know that you will be reunited with him again. Travel safe and Godspeed.
