Good news, the two remaining SCH's that i dug out of the earth survived. I'd placed the germinated seeds to low under the earth and the shoots came out but under the earth. I think i got them just in the nick of time. Otherwise, plenty of sunshine forecast today and the rest of the week in "32 degrees lattitude land"...

Hi folks, thanks for the follows. I know its not that interesting at the moment, but here's the latest update. ALL shoots came through in the end. Actually found the last two were growing under the earth! A lesson in planting the germinated seeds, don't do it too low below the surface of the soil. Its now 2 weeks since the initial shoots were visible. Pepperjack and Snow looking seriously good. And the 32 degrees lat sun is doing its wonderful thing. Actually not too bright, little bit of cloud in the morning but I reckon its better for the seedlings that way.... ease them into it. The sun is gonna ROAR here in the next few weeks so its gonne do em a lot of good.

Latest images. The cat bit off a couple of leaves of one which he received a severe beating for and is now not allowed out for a few days. I've gotta get em off the ground onto some sort of higher shelf so he can't be tempted by a nice juicey leaf. They are getting sun all day long from morning until night at around 77 - 90 but mainly in the 80s. Watering a couple of times a day, lightly. They are seedlings, they don't have root systems yet so they need regular waterings. I do it sparingly though, letting them ultimately dry out by the end of the afternoon then they stay like that until the next morning. All in all, very steady progress being made!

Ah it was only a couple of whales. I think he understood, no permanent damage.

I know, he doesn't know any better. I can't put a fence around them the way they are set up. But I can get them off the ground maybe on top of a higher side table that he can't get onto....

By the way, realized with the watering that I've gotta get the entire pot soaked through rather than only wet the topsoil, so the roots can stretch right down to the bottom. Did that yesterday and it was enough water for yesterday and today. Planning on watering tomorrow. They looked like they grew massively after that big watering, definitely the way to go. Imagine as they get bigger and stronger that I'll water every two/three days and let em dry out for longer.....

Shit!! Found this nasty crittur on the leaves. Its a tiny thin white worm looking thing. Anyone know a) wtf it is? and b) htf to get rid of it?

The above are fungus gnats - bad news. I'm thinking that knocking up a load of habanero spray even though i can't find anywhere on the web which says that this works, I bet it would. That shit kills everything and can be a good thing to spray now in advance of the dreaded spider mites (which will arrive at some point).........
