I have a healthy sweet tooth going in a 5 gal generic fabric pot. When lifting to check the weight for watering I noticed one lone root punctured through the bottom and grew out about a 1.5". Do I let it go, or try to cut into the pot and gently tuck it back in?

You won't be able to move it with out breaking it.Just leave it or break it off, there are thousands of roots in your pot so don't worry about it.

I agree of course

They even make pots now a days where they intend the roots to grow through holes in the pots on purpose, to die off, promoting more root growth. Supposed to make bigger plants, and I see peeps doin' it too.

Just sayin', not a bad thing, and may be a good thing

Peace

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I had a feeling it'd be a similar scenario as the roots that reach the side where its mostly air (promote more growth) I was just worried since it's my first fabric pot setup (and I'm also one of those guys who doesn't like to beat up the plant to bad with LST and such)

I was actually able to make a slit in the cloth and slip it back in (since it wasn't dried out quit yet and brittle). Not that it really matters, but hey why not strive for perfection if you can?
