In genreral growing with top feed recirc. using hydroton / leca is high maintenance regarding ph.
About maintenance and top feed with leca/hydroton
My to latest plants was / is on 5L res. each.
one res with "daily" adding back water/nutes and res change every 5 days. if the ppm dropped by 50 ish daily my ph was stable(during flower)
This is the funny part..I did not have the time to take care of the other plant ( Tjeck my sig.)
The other res i was adding maybe 2x1 liter to the res between res change and just let the plant "suck" it dry before changing res.
adjusting ph ones a week ore thereabouts
I newer had a auto grow with so little maintenance look so good.
Point is. you need to find a way to grow with your setup that keeps it low maintenance.
A D.T.W. drain to WASTE will waste your money and nutes
Decent yeild dosn.t come over night it takes time and experience (with all the different setups there is)
