Thanks for the generous welcome.
I'll work on putting a journal up tonight. If I'm clever, I'll even link it back to here. I can already tell I could use help/advice, but we'll get to that later.
Quick overview:
This room was put together on the cheap. So no fancy LEDs, co2, DWC...yet

1000w magnetic ballast
cheap generic wing reflector-will be replaced by large adjust-a-wing soon.
hortilux 1000w Super HPS
6x24" phresh filter
6" can fan
6" inline muffler

seeds start under individual CFLs 6500k
only 26w now...I'm sure I need the 33w, or maybe 42. But to spend a little more, I could go to LEDs.

3 gallon plastic pots
soil mix of 2/3 happy frog:1/3 ocean forest

I'm using the freebie seeds that came with my order.

Ok, that does sound like a lot for 6 plants. I want to run 3 cycles of 6 at a time. That way I'll have 6 under the CFLs, and then 12 on the floor under the HPS.
In a perfect world, I can harvest every 3-4 weeks.
