Outdoor Sapphire's Garden 2013

Update pics...

June 1

6.1 cheeses, nypds.jpg6.1 dragons, cheddars, am haze.jpg

1st pic are the LA Cheese & NY Purp Diesel. I fimmed the largest Cheese & PD the other day and it's cool to see how quickly the new shoots start popping out! :D I'll try and get a pic later.
2nd pic are the White Dragons, lonely Amnesia Haze and Jack Cheddars. Largest dragon was fimmed also. I'm thinking about trying some LST with the wimbly dragon in the back row. Cheddars are starting to come along... lol

I topped off the soil too () and applied their first spray of Monterey Insect spray (I think) with spinosad, a bacteria, apparently. F**cking baby grasshoppers got a little meal on them already, but haven't seen any since I sprayed. What else. Oh - I'm feeding them Dyna-grow & cal-mag w/ superthrive every other feeding. Ran out of Big Bloom, which is a FF product used for the whole grow and I'll add it next feeding. :stir:

That's it for now, I'll have more time and energy for these gals soon. I'm feeling a little :help: from having another grow also, but that should be ending soon.

PS - the unflowering "auto AK" is OUT - found pollen sacks...

Like the style of this grow, subbed!
:D

Hey Girl. You look like you have a great start to your 2013 Photo season.

You mentioned "thinking" about trying some LSTing. I'm doing some on 4 Autos right now, and I'm so sold on it.
Please try it if you haven't yet.

I finally started another grow journal in the New Growers Section. My ancient camera sucks:cuss: so, sorry for the verrrrrrrry poor low resolution pics.

By the way, I saw you and RivalFish having a conversation about Tool.
I maybe old,but they are one of my favorite bands. Got to see them live in 2001 :D

Ok, I"m off to work on StickMan Farms.

Catch up with you later.
:peace:

Thanks, StickMan! Looking forward to devoting more time to this grow.
I went out to do my LST and D'OH - the smart pots are fabric HAHAHAA - not the solid, unmoving edge that is needed. :face: Maybe someone who smokes less weed would have thought of that before hand...

I'll have new pics up everywhere later on... Off to your thread now! :booya:

Looking very nice and healthy! If you don't mind, can you throw up a couple of shots of those toms in smart pots? I have thought about doing that but always seem to be lacking pots for some reason....

Great stuff, looking lovely :D

Hey there GF! :D Yah, tardy again,... :face: LOL! Fimm-fimminy fimm-fimmany fimmfimm farooo! The plants look fantastic after that round, Mz. S' ... great job! You're gonna have some globe-'fro bushes of goodness... I'm with you on the NYPD's, those are some handsome little plants! I love the shape and posture of those indica type leaves,... but, heck, they all look sexy to me! :brow: They grew quite a bit in just a week too, didn't they! ***** how do you like the Spinosad so far? It's been hell on the bugs (thrips mostly) for my plants! I'm pretty sure it's a contact/ingestion killer, so unless the bugs get hit directly, or eat enough leaf (:cuss:), it won't kill newcomers or ones that were shielded somehow, so retreating I find is necessary... but the corpse count the next day is fiendishly gratifying!! Your grasshopper plague is a localized thing, I think... if lots were around to lay eggs earlier, new batches of hatches will continue for while,... so keep-a-killin' and sprayin'! Oh yeah, about the smart pots! I have a couple ideas; easiest fix for LST is to go get a cheap plastic pot that's plenty wider than the smart pot, and just rest it in there- it'll still breath just fine and give a firm place to tie to. I was looking to do the same, but for ease of moving reasons,....then my stoned genius CFL bulb lite up-
001.jpg<--- :wiz: handles, man...LOL! That's about 1/4" smooth nylon rope, cut about 1' long, with simple cross knots on the end (washers optional, not necessary I think; fabric is plenty tough); make a small hole, just enough to clear the rope, with something like plant hanger wire, doubled over, and heated well; it melts and seals the fiber ends; poke it through, tie the knot, trim extra off, ...oh! and melt the ends of rope w/ lighter to prevent unraveling (doing this before you poke it through will make it easier as well- my rope had a cotton core, so the nylon would slip up the core like a loose sock!)..... So, get your LST on and get frisk-ay...! :smoke: Giggady.....

Damn bro those plants are doing awesome wont be long and you will have some monsters on your hands. Great job

Sorry about not getting back with you all sooner! :help: Almost over the busyness!! :D

Thanks a bunch, jay! Ya, I'm excited!

:pimp: Yep, waira, these next few weeks, maybe even a month are when I like the "look" of the plants the best! Bushy bushes are definitely what I'm looking for!

I LOVE the spinosad product!! I used it ONCE. Saw a few buggers occassionally afterwards, but they weren't hungry! :firedevil:

I read that it should only be used a certain number of times per season, so I want to spread out the treatments. It works so well that I'll probably only use it 2 more times this grow. One nice thing I read is the recommendation NOT to use it if you WANTED butterflies in your garden - which I DO NOT! Soooo, it may ward off the evil, winged, egg-laying moths & butterflies whose offspring have feasted on my garden for 2 years... :twist: I have the mosquito net "room" still, but with that knowledge I may have to "experiment" with a few gals outside the physical barrier & see if it IS preventative. We'll see how brave I am when flowering starts, though!! LOL

I love the idea about putting the smart pot in a larger one more amenable to lst!! I'm confused about the need for the handles, tho...?? Hmmm, a wire frame of some kind would also work... Wow, I may just have to play with some hangers to see if I can rig something up... Thanks for the suggestion, waira - I had given up on the lst idea...:bow:

Thanks for reading, folks! See ya next time!
