Mephisto Genetics Sativa Testers and Crate Training, by slowandeasy.

You will notice that the 1 gal pots will finish sooner than the 2.5gal. The extra root space makes a difference on how long mine stay in Veg mode. The extra veg time rarely translates to a better yield for me. It is just wasted time and space.

Cool. I'd love to see the plants in this grow get to flowering faster with the smaller 1g pots. My Mephisto strains in the last grow with 2.5g pots went to flower pretty fast (i recorded as being 35 days) compared to Dinafem, DP and Sweet Seeds. So combining the fast Mephisto genetics and the smaller pots should make for fast runs. Its going to be interesting to see how it goes. I'd love to see something finish in under 60 days this grow.

One other thing I like about faster runs is I hate the long flowering and ripening phase. It takes so long to happen. And in that time I could screw something up. could light stress plants because I move the lights to close trying to ripen. I could screw up PH. Could cause a lockout. i see the longer flowering phase as a risk for someone like me to be honest.

I see a longer veg period with 2gal pots. They show preflowers, but don't kick into flower as quickly. Then the flush takes longer. So this combines to lengthen the total grow time for me.

Time for an update slow!
Thursday is my picture day, but FWIW. The Super Orange Haze is by far the smallest and the one is a little N to looking. They have been darker green the whole life and are under a different spectrum, but clearly need a little less N. The rest are beasts.

Also, the Hubba Bubba Haze I didn't tame is going to be massive. I did one Natural and 1 tied down. Because she was small, I let her stretch out. Now it's huge! We will see how she yields and reacts vs no training

Mini update. Day 29 from seed. I don't like posting pics in 3 spots. But this is my Thread, so here are just a couple of them to show how they are doing with the Crate Training. Hubbabubba Haze [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG]

Just so everyone knows, there are currently about 25 tops. I have to remove 3 more plants from the 4x8 in the next day or two. Once out, I will have 4 plants in the 4x8. I will train them out more, and they will get more tops. They are starting to stretch, so I will be manipulating them as needed. I also have 2 new lights coming. So that will be cool. I am excited to see these progress. The Sour Orange Haze plants are by far the smallest and in a 4x4 under a different spectrum. I will take some better pics once the extra plants get taken out. Peace, slow

25 tops? I was thinking to myself those plants look very wide. How tall are they?
I will have to measure. They are about to get a lot wider. You can't see the amount of Bud sites in the pics. I just had to remove 3 plants and now they will be stretched out more. They are in a 4x8 tent and 4 plants will engulf the whole thing....in 3 Quart pots.

Great work as always! :slap:
