Indoor Sawneys White Gen3 and Knightmare, 420Scrog Method.

I had a hard time wrapping my head around the requirements for the 420 method, and the necessity of 'keeping the tops down'. Here's an example. In the first photo, I *temporarily* tipped two of the subordinate stems on the branch down, only to make them visible, to demonstrate. Those stems are in the approximately 1 o'clock and 3' clock positions in the photos. The 'top', aka the 'tippy top' of the stem is held horizontally with the net -- it's at about the 7 o'clock position in the photos. This tricks the plant into thinking it has 'lost its head' on that stem, so to speak, and stimulates it to put energy into its lower 'nodes', aka stems. In the second photo I have released the future 'lower' bud sites, that will grow faster/stronger until the trickery is removed from the 'tippy top' of the stem, and at that point, they will all work together in relative equality, and harmony. 🙂

You've got it, the same reason you initially bent that main top over with the stake to direct that growth energy to the lower nodes.

It's the same with the side branching, keep that main "Tippy Top" horizontal as best you can and allow those lower nodes along the limb to absorb that diverted energy.

Day 35 for the WG and day 32 for the KN.

They look fabulous! DOA, do you let a top up when the lower buds on that branch have roughly equaled the top bud's size?
I don't worry about the size of the lower buds in relation to the "Tippy-Top". As long as I have enough side branches that have developed tops to fill my centre then that's objective achieved.

The Tippy Top is just allowed to grow up when I reach the edge of my frame. The 2 x 4 is just big enough to grow two plants providing I don't add more Hugos/Rockwool. It's a fine balance and having the right genetics to get the flowering time is vital ;)

My WG flowered sooner than I would of liked but that's all part of the growing experience ;)

It's Day 38 for the White Gen 3 and day 35 for the Knightmare.

The WG has been moved over now to GH Flora Nova Bloom with added Grotek Monster Bloom.

Now that the frame has filled out and my centres full, everything will be left to tower ;)

Another huge defoliation is pending but the ladies are happy and doing what they do ;)

Hey Deano wonderful plants, thanks for sharing i love it ♥, ec to bloom period? And after lowering the net, has there been any defoliation so far? Or have you only removed large leaves from the top? And xd set the distance at 30 cm without moving any further until the end, right?

I keep the EC at 1.2 - 1.4 the entire grow. I just sub in Bloom nutes rather than grow supplemets. The ladies will get another defol soon, normally about 10-14 days after super cropping, so probably this week end, time pending. The lights are still at 30cm, as the towers grows, I'll raise them accordingly.

How time flies, this was Day 47 for the Nightmare before I defoliated her and again today at Day 56. I wanted to get some snaps after her first defol but the opportunity was missed.

The White Gen is packing on weight and will have another heavy defol over this coming weekend. The Knightmare will also have another defol, this cultivar just keeps pushing out leaves for me to pluck ;)

Happy Growing

DOA ;)

Day 73 for the WG and day 70 for the much larger Knightmare.

Both ladies were heavy defoilated but the knightmare needs another round before finishing. The WG is just about done, a real quick finisher with some heavy firm buds.

Both ladies are still drinking 6-7 litres a day but I have noticed the intake for the WG slowing down.
