New Grower Second Grow - DP AutoMazar Outdoor/Indoor

Day 81. The weather improved and Persephone (goddess of vegetation in Greek mythology) got a few days of sun. Buds are starting to fill out nicely. Despite my vigilance, ants managed to secrete a scale bug on the main stem, but I removed it before much damage was done. Gave her a flush with pH'ed water before the last feed and she responded well to that. Only a little fan leaf yellowing going on, so still a way to go yet. :smokeit:

Day 91. Most trichs are milky, with some amber starting to show, so I started a 14-day flush last Friday. The plant is still so green, it looks like it has a while to go yet, but I'll monitor the trichs and go by what they show.

Still under daily attack from ants, so I suspect there's a gelatinous scale bug somewhere on the stem, but I can't see it. They're hard to see until they start to harden and go brown. Not the worst of the pests though. I think this marks the end of my outdoor grows; there may be a GrowNorthern LED under the Xmas tree this year. :head: I don't have the patience for outdoors anymore.

Beautiful plants in an exotic location. Third photo above is spectacular.

Are you an expat. Always interests me as to how some of you guys make it happen.

Hi Alan...:tiphat: Yeah, I left my home town (Dublin) in 1982 (no work to be had) and stayed in London till 1989. Wife got a two-year posting to Hong Kong: we stayed 23 years in all. We saved hard and were able to retire early to Thailand. That's how it goes...

Now that is great planning. Hong Kong has always intrigued me. And, of course, living in Thailand has to be extraordinary.

Hi Canna', our far East brother! :tiphat: I get the feeling you're a pretty unique grower here, given where you are... Some troubles are the same all over though, huh! Outdoors, we must fight constantly for possession of our ladies- LOL! -but you vermin are of another stripe over there... are the ants themselves fierce buggers? All my local pests are soft, easy-to-kill types... yours are potentially more,...challenging! Bite-sting-bite-sting :ama: I was thinking, what strains will do best where you're at; Mz. P' looks to be enjoying her tropical surrounding though! :Foxy: Great job on her, especially considering you don't have ready access to so many every day products we take for granted here...her potent Indica Mazar heritage should be an interesting treat for those who've not had something like it before,... might need a few extra cots to set out! :smoke: .... Sounds like a serious care package is in order someday, for some grow-goodies... are there difficulties with this due to Customs, Reg's and such? I can hardly blame you for throwing in the towel outdoors! My results have not been very good, size-wise, vermin issues aside... I'll go indoors at the first, least opportunity! -the results other get make the case 'no contest'! Meanwhile, happy hunting for the damn scales the ants keep replanting...:cuss: Good stuff brother! :smokeit:

Hey waira...thanks for dropping in. We get all shapes and sizes of ants here, in food, in clothes, on plants, they're everywhere, and they bite. But then again, just about everything bites here. I was bitten by fire ants in Australia, and that hurt. Here it's more of an itch, just like a mosquito bite (don't get me started on mozzies grrrrr).

I haven't grown much here, but Think Different is a stand out from what I have grown. I grew it in the very hot season (as opposed to the normal hot season, comprising the other nine months of the year), 37C/98F in the shade, 50C/122F in the sun. Just about every pest you can think of had a chunk of her. What finally set her back was a transplant to a larger container half way through flowering (the rootball shrank ~50%. Not my finest moment. :Stones slap: ) But I did manage to salvage about a month's worth of very strong smoke from her. I don't use aftershave, but if DP ever makes a Think Different aftershave, I'll be first in the queue.

You got that right, bro. I can only dream of some of the grow setups I see here, but trying to get them through Customs could be problematic. So I work with what I've got. I'll be back in Ireland at Christmas (two weeks in Amsterdam on the way there, woohoo:dance2:), so I'll see what I can bring back. Mostly need mylar and nutes, apart from the GN00006 that is...

Best of luck with your own grow. :peace:

The plant is looking real good my friend, she's put on some serious mass since i last drop by. With the trich's normally i work to a 50-50 rule between white and amber, generally i find this gets you the best smoke/stone. Anything more and the stone becomes really heavy due to the degraded THC. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

Thailand is a great place, i stayed a while in Railay. It's a rock climbing beach on the mainland that you can only access by boat. They have jungle bars where you can buy weed and smoke it freely. Never been so chilled in all my life.

Thanks for looking in again, Morton. I think the photo above of the whole plant makes the buds look bigger than they are. If I get an ounce out of this, I'll be very happy. I live about 100 yards from the beach and the salt air does not encourage growth.

Railay is over near Krabi, right? I haven't been there, but it sounds like a good safe place for a smoke. Have to be very careful buying weed here; if caught, the least you'll get away with is a large "contribution" to the police benevolent fund.
