So I'm not sure what's wrong with this one.. It's tent buddy is doing fine and I did everything the same for them. In the first picture you can see it's root and it doesn't have any hairs on it.. the end is pretty close to the surface. It wasn't uncovered like that but I was moving some of the coco around to try to give it some support. It's standing now, burred it a little, but the under sides of the leaves are dark and I'm not sure what that means.. Is something wrong with the roots?
Hoping it makes it, but I'm thinking it might get stunted from this..
Any ideas? I didn't use any nutes except a very small amount of calmag [like.. hald a ml to a whole gallon], and I pHed the water I used.. The second to last picture shows the other one, and it's grown a bit more since then.
Temp is a steady 79 degrees and the humidity is going between 48-51, mostly sits at 49.
Lights are 49k lumen cob led strips., i have them about a foot and a half away.

Edit: added a photo of how it was doing yesterday before it flopped today, it's the one with the vampire teeth.

Ive had that happen before ......ive had them die and ive saved a couple ,with mine it was watering the soil impatiently and washed away to much ,leaving it with not enough support .......if its still standing tomorrow it may be ok .......but as a disclaimer...im no expert....just chipping in whats happened to me .....good luck hope it works out

How much have you watered the little ladies? I've had to prop a few up that stretched wit tooth picks in an X... but this one looks limp.

Not a whole lot I guess, just a splash here and there when it's dryer. I just stopped the watering since they just popped up yesterday, had been watering more beforehand to keep the seeds moist. Maybe that's the issue? It just strikes me as odd because I've given them the same treatment and it decided it wanted to give up on life. It's still standing with the added support, we'll see how it's doing tomorrow.
@namvet25 I could see that.. it's roots were way closer to the surface than I thought they should be, where as the other is spanning downwards much more. I readjusted the substrate in it's place while I was building the support, added a tad of dry coco to the moist coco, just in case it was over watering, so it'll still get oxygen while getting water. [I hope] Also added more drain holes and cut some 1" slits in the sides.
I actually planted them too deep to begin with and moved them up some before they surfaced when I realized my mistake (had them about an inch down) and they surfaced within the 12 hours following. Then today this happened. Maybe I didn't repack the soil tight enough?
Fingers crossed.

On of the biggest issues with tiny seedlings tends to be over watering, it's easy to do, and I'd bet we've all done it... it reacts very similarly, sprout falls over, limp and then runs a serious risk of damping off. I've killed my share. Can't say for certain, but let's see if we can't get another voice to reply? Hey @Waira any thoughts?

Hi Foxx:

Several things can cause that type of behavior: Seed planted upside down, Seed planted too shallow, Seedling uncovered during watering, or the taproot is stuck in a big piece of perlite forcing all of the growth upward. My money is on the latter.

That soil in your cup is really course for germination. I recommend something like root riots or small rockwool cubes for germination. Your humidity is a little low.

It's not perlite, saw the whole root while I was adjusting substrate. It was shallow.. and it was also upside down at first. Both are fixed now.
It's coco that's in there, not soil. It's really a lot softer than it looks, and I think most of the larger bits tend to sit more towards the top, smaller ones falling between. I also have humidity domes for them, can't think of much else to raise it. Maybe adding a pan of water on the floor? Don't have a humidifier, or the funds for one atm. What would you say is the best humidity?
Do plan on getting rapid rooters, just forgot them this time around.

The white bits in the coco are perlite. A cup of water under the dome will raise the humidity some. Wet a paper towel and roll it into a rope and ring the top of the water cup with it leaving one end in the water and that will raise it some more. ~ 70% humidity is good for seedlings but give them some fresh air a few times a day.

:toke: Spiffy-- you jammed it up when you moved it after germinating... the radical elongation pushed it up, rather than penetrating into the coco,.. being fluffy like coco is doesn't help... Plant seeds about 1cm deep, level if you can,... your RH is OK at about 50% and those temps,...domes can help if it's low RH% but also keep in mind that mold loves such moisture as well, so it's a bit of a gamble,.. better to make a baggie tent or something that will still allow a little air exchange,... don't worry about O2 at such shallow depths, and coco breathes very well anyway,.. like Nammy said, you can bury her some so she can be righted up,..
Are you growing the out in coco? If so, have you done some research on this soilless medium? It has several do's and don'ts, most relating to it's peculiar cation exchange capacity (CEC),... coco is a Ca hog, Mg to a lesser extent, hence the call for Ca-mg all the time,.. never water plain, always have some Ca-Mg in it! if you use specialized nutes for coco, you may not need the extra Ca-Mg as often,... coco is best treated more like hydro, as far as nute dilutions go, ...pH low 6's to upper 5's,... are you running drain-to-waste? 10-15% run-off is a good idea,... you should start weak nutes soon, as coco it devoid if it,...
