I thought Autoflowers didn't need to be topped but would it help increase yield?

Just give here a little LST ..i'd be to afraid of stunting her , your life is not that long to recover imo....i have seen people do it i dont know if they got more then what they would have if they didnt top it

Generally speaking, topping isn't recommended for autos. I've tried it several times and about all it accomplished was setting the plants back a week or so while they recovered. In the end, yields were about the same as untopped plants.

best time to top autoflowers is when their in pre-flower stretch, I know kush-t did a great example of this with his auto mazar and it does give for a nice even canopy, because they are in pre-flower stretch it doesn't slow them down as this is probably the fastest rate at which the plant is growing

you can pinch them 7 days after showing sex as pre-stretch normally lasts 2 - 3 weeks

some people like to lst to get even canopy but its just down to grower preference

a good question is does it produce more weight?

the fact that you topped the main cola normally makes other budsites crave the attention so instead of having a Christmas tree like structure your get a nice even spread of top colas which should all fill out nicely

I never a topped plant produce more weight. Did several side by side comparisons. LST is preferred did produce more weight as buds can be exposed to more light/energy. I love to "wire" my plants similiar to bonsai. VERY good therapy for the grower...give ya time to talk to ya plant too.

LST = Low Stress Treatment? Like bending the main stems down?

No no no no no never cut anything on an auto. There isn't enough time for it to heal. All you'll do is lower your yield.

LST is the way to go if you're going to do anything with an auto.
