Hi would a 250w hps
Cost the same to run as a 250w cfl I am currently running a

Mars hydro 300 think it's 150 actual watt

250w CFL

2x 32w CFL

125w CFL

90w ufo led

Would a hps cost less to run than all of this stupid question I know the amount of watts add up way more than 250w

Depends.... is the 250 watt cfl an actual horticulture bulb or just a big one from HOME depot... if it's horticulture then yes the 250 hps and the 250 cfl will pull the same wattage from the circuit.... if it's a regular then no it should have an "actual" wattage along with a equivalent wattage of 250 watts...

Your probably (if that cfl is horticulture ) pulling a good bit more running all those lights than you would to run a 250 watt hps...

Things to consider are heat and access to fresh air and a place to pull hot air...

I'm assuming since your considering a 250 hps it's a small apace. The hps will get hot and you'll need good airflow. Of its a larger space Don waste your time get a 400 or 600 watt hps and step it up a bit. The power draw isn't all that bad running 18/6 and setting up your timer to be off for the peak time of day when power cost the most

The 250w CFL is actual watt

The tent is 1.2mx0.5mx1.5m I have a 3 inch fan for intake and a 6inch fan carbon filter for outtake will be growing
4plants at a time in there I am not happy with my current set up

Would a 250w be good for this space or should I get a 400w like You suggested

Thanks for the quick reply

Thanks man will do some research into the lights sure I seen a 400w with a self cooled reflector on Amazon for £100 the other day would 2 200w be better than 1 400w

Probably give a little better coverage being I've 2 plants at a time. But the single 400 would be easier to setup cooling and fans
