What's up y'all? Was hoping I could ask you guys for some opinions on what's going on with these leaves, please?

It's a Nirvana Bubblicious, just starting week 8 from germ. She's been flowering away, although the buds are kind of small at this point, and she's been on a bloom nute schedule of FF Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom since about week 6 1/2. Been feeding her once a week.

It started with the one most lowest fan leaves (first pic), and I just noticed the same brown spot on one of the other lower fan leaves (second pic). The leaves are kind of yellowish and "brittle".

BTW I have an AK47 growing along side that I started at the same time, that's a lot further along, and shows no signs of the leaf degradation.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the replies! I just discovered another leaf, this one near the top that looks like it's doing the same thing. I've attached a pic of it.

To be honest, the grow was going so well, I really didn't pay much attention to the ph:o. I have been watering with distilled H20 since day one, and I did occasionally test that with the drops and was always around 6.3 based on the chart on the side of the bottle.

When you say phosphorus, would that be too little or too much. That would make sense, as I mentioned above that I just started the bloom nutes within the last two weeks. If it's too much phosphorus, should I quit feeding and just flush for the next week or too, and then reintroduce the bloom nutes at a lower dosage?

Really appreciate your help!

Have you been adding cal/mag to the distilled water, if not than its def a cal/Mag problem as distilled water has 0ppm's
I did let my pot go dry one to many times probably, always afraid of over watering, also was using fox farm nutes but switched mid way here to advanced nutes, I'm sure that's got the plant all messed up, just going to do water for a while here....
Sending healing plant karma your way man! Sucks when we have sick ladies....
Peace

@websterpark: diagnosing issues isn't the easiest thing to do.. if pH wasn't a factor up until this point, it's hard to convince you of it being a factor now.. but I believe you'd see more exaggerated issues with pH.

Distilled H20 is great.. here's the catch. It has no CAL/MAG in it at all.. I see no mention of cal/mag supplements in your thread.

What medium are you running and what supplements do you have available besides FF line?

Run your bloom nutes as the strength you're running them at, you'd see other issues than what you have going on there. In all honesty, with the bit of information you've given I'd say it's bloom magnesium deficiency. When your plant is flowering it requires a bit more magnesium than it would normally.. first it'll use stored magnesium (create those yellowing hatch patches) then it'll start to get a little worse (the rust spots)..

What kind of lights are you running? What medium are they in? (I know soil, but what kind) What are your temps typically?

@yoda: the nute change can cause those issues.. often in late bloom, my plants start to look similar to that.. in fact, they can be kind of worse.. you're running soil right?

Thanks for coming to the rescue! I have NOT been adding any cal/mag suppliments to the distilled H20. They've been growing in FF Ocean Forest since day one. The only thing I've added besides the distiled H20 is FF Grow Big which I started at week 5 and then switched to Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom at week 6.5.

For lighting I started off with a small LED on top during seedling. Added four 26w 6500K CFLs on top around week 2. Added four more 2700K CFLS aroundafter they started flowering around week 3, and then switched them all over 2700K at week 7 when I started the bloom nutes.

How should I feed the cal/mag suppliments? Every time I water? along with the nutes? Should I increase the nutes to more than just once a week? Right now I'm watering that Bubblicious almost every other day!

Sorry for all the questions, but I really trust you guys, and I'm getting close to finishing her out and don't want to screw it up!

Thanks!

and thanks for the karma yoda! Sending some back for your ladies as well!

Hi websterpark...some of the leaves of my Think Different were exactly the same as yours. I thought some kind of pest was responsible (I have an outdoor grow so pests like leaf borers/miners are a problem) as the leaves with rust developed parts that looked like the chlorophyll was being sucked out of them. I flushed the soil with some Epsom salts (1 tablespoon to a gallon of water) and the problem seems to have gone away.

I'll leave the nutes question to the experts. Good luck with the rest of the grow. :toke:

Thanks for "piping" in! I think i read somewhere epsom salt were the supplement to use for cal/mag deficiency. I think i will try that, can't hurt. Thanks for the suggestion. Should i add every watering? A tablespoon seems like a lot. I thought i also read to add like just a pinch?
