Sick Plant

Didn't know. Thanks for the info. I will definitely start that regime.

:toke: Cat'-- she's starving, and there's too much perlite in that coco,... very little medium to hold nutes! And there are special requirements with coco, hence the many specialized nute lines made to deal with them... I'm seeing this more and more lately-- have you researched how to grow with coco? There are many things different about it vs. true soil, and you cannot treat it like reg. soil, or there will be sucky results,... indeed, several aspects about it are closer to hydro' than soil, or even "soilless" like Promix,... look it up in the coco section here, and online,... Canna coco has a very good website info on it,... so, likely you'll have a runt this round, since the auto clock is ticking, and she'll bloom soon,...

Fed my girl this morning. Botanicare Grow 12ml per gallon, CalMag 4ml per gallon, distilled water, 1400ppm in - 1600ppm out (don't know why?), ph up to 5.85. Soil ph is 6.4 (measured with accurate 8). Runoff about 20%.

Thanks Waira. You are a legend in my book! Fixing to germ a couple beans (auto fem) Candy Cane. Gonna try soil this time around since I am familiar with it. FFOF, FFLW, perlite. Is the FFOF hot? If so, l will 'stage' the soil starting with the FFLW then letting the mature roots grow into the FFOF. You got any pointers that you could throw my way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey bud  -- legend?! not even in my own mind!! fugeddaboutit!
.... :nono: I have no faith in FF soils anymore, just too many horror stories of badly off pH, undercooked soils, OF and HF both! There are other, better soils,...Roots Organic is commonly available, but it depends on what you can get your hands on locally,... Many folks who use Roots soils find it's wise to add a little extra lime to it,... Use that A8 unit to test before you even open the bag! I've done the same to show peep's how crappy FF soils can be.... it's odd, because some get bags that are fine and swear by the soils, but regional differences and sourcing is a factor....

Thanks for the heads up Waira. I'll get some Roots Organic. The last thing I want is to have ph problems right away. Can you use this straight out of the bag or is there some kind of amendments that I will need to add? Thanks for your help! On another note, your grows look great!!! I'm gonna 'get my mind right' and do a little research. I will let you know what I come up with. Thanks again.

...that's what I was saying, a little extra lime to the Roots is probably wise,... any garden type lime will do, at 2-3 T/gal soil... do you have a horticultural store you go to? What soils do they carry?

:smoking: ..thanks mate, I'm still learning plenty myself! And photo's are undoubtedly easier to grow,...

We have a couple hydro stores within a reasonable drive. They carry a large variety of soils. I picked up some Roots Organic and dolomite lime. Should I pre mix the lime or top dress? Thanks again man!!!
