Grow Mediums Slim's 1st Autopot grow-Think Different

again, 5 gallon paint strainers are cheap and you can wash coco perlite and hydroton in them. Clay pebbles are ph neutral, they only need washing to eliminate the dust in them

Wile e, welcome aboard and thanks for the well wishes Frogster...Should be getting my Autopots delivered today!! Wooooooot!!
Still need to run to the Hydro Store for clay pebbles and more perlite.
I have to wash and PH the clay pebbles...anyone have a good method? I use Brick Coco and I usually expand it in a bucket, then mix in the Perlite and fill my pots. Then I run tap water over them until my ppms are under 100. Then I PH the coco/perlite mix to about 6.0 and give each pot a few ml of coco A + B. Can I just do the same with the pebbles? Should I do them separate?
Also going to do a scrog for the 2 Think D's because height has been becoming a serious issue and I dont have the means to go higher then 5 feet. I have no experience, so anyone have any helpful tips, please let me know!! Thank you friends! (-:
So now the waiting begins...

IMO, the secret is to start with a low ppm solution if using nutes. I start at 400 ppms for 2 weeks, then 450-600pmm the rest of the grow, no need for high ppms like in hydro. They run high to keep levels up. In auto pots, you plants get a continuous flow of fresh nutrient solution thats always at the same ppm, its why they work so well

Personally I would have started off with a lesser amount like 4 gallons (15 liters). That way you get a chance to dial in your nutrients and see how it all works. I found my first four gallons took a little over a week for two girls to drink and their needs had changed by that time.

But you might be onto something there, fill it up and let it ride. I am curious as to how this works out for you. I too love the automation of the autopots, just don't forget to check in on your ladies daily if possible. They get lonely and it's good to make sure your water is going where it is supposed to go. lol

yes thats how i do it!

This girl was with no airdome..........glad I didn't!!

Thanks Frogster & Wile e for your input!! Wow Pop!! That girl is a monster!! So no layer of anything on the bottom, just place the airdome into the pot and fill with your coco/perlite mix?

Thanks for all the info Pop!! I did go with the airdome and so far so good. Pop, roughly how often did you change your res & for how many auto pots? Also, how much did you fill up your water tank? I filled mine 12 gallons and fed her at about 1/2 of the strength according to the guide on Canna's website....

Another question...how often do you clean your lines? What do you all use to clean your lines?
BTW, don't want to jinx myself, but my plants have never looked so green and healthy before...My other 8-10 grows, I always had some ugly spots, clawing leaf tips etc etc...so happy with these auto pots!

I only clean my lines after the grows over just check them regularly make sure there still running and to clean them use around a 20 ml syringe and pump water and bleach or h2o2 through them then give them a good rinse out [emoji106]

I toke therfore I am so naaa

I always try to fill up my res just enough to last 5-6 days ideally (starting at 15L and gradually going up from there, usually upto 30-35L by mid flower). This keeps the res fresh and pH stable and allows for more frequent feeding adjustments... Going much more than a week can cause problems and lead to clogged valves.

As for nutes, I've never gone past 1/2 strength with the AN stuff and that seems to work great for pretty much every plant I've grown with them.

I top up my res, I never empty it. I flush the lines ( when using nutes ) at about 30 days. Actually, I have extra hosing harnesses pre-made and I just swap them out. I then flush the other set using a 30ml syringe. Take each connection apart, flush each line with a fitting attached so that the fittings get flushed also.
