I imagine that I'm not alone in having to harvest a plant inside my home (outside of a smallish grow cabinet) and my biggest problem has always been the reek of freshly cut weed..unfortunately I live on the umpteenth floor with neighbours all over so smell control is my numero uno priority.

The police did a lovely job last year of sending out little scratchcards to half of the UK reminding people what a farm smells like so I dread the chopping phase of the grow process.

I've tried numerous methods over the years to counter the smell of harvesting/trimming... ona , febreeze, candles , coffee machine on continuously , frying bacon, ozone generators etc but nothing has really done the job effectively until now.

A friend in Spain recommend that I try a product called the neutralizer, effectively essential oils which are heated in a plug in unit with each cartridge last for 6 weeks continuously. I won't post a link but easily found on Google.

The unit and cartridge were pricey and to be honest, I thought I'd been ripped off when I first opened the box but I've been using this for the past two harvests and am very, very impressed at its ability to not just mask the smell but also it's odour absorption without being so overpowering as to shout "hey there's weed being chopped in there".

I can now safely chop and trim a plant in a closed off room with no worries and after an hour, you would hardly know that I'd just chopped three monster plants in there.

In no way am I employed or a salesman for the product but only sharing a discovery (after years of searching and angst) which may help others who suffer with the pain of paranoia at harvest time.

Would love to hear what others do to mask the reek (asides from chopping in the tent).

Before this discovery, fried bacon sandwiches were the best at masking the reek which meant harvest in the kitchen. One day I cooked over 30 rashers one after the other, eating God knows how many sandwiches to the extent that I couldn't face another sliver of bacon for months.

Scratchcards sent out? That's fucking insane. Britain is on my travel to-do list, so I gotta know, do they really go that hard on growers and tokers in the U.K.?

To answer your question, the home made Ona bucket has never failed me. I have a cat litter box, and a guinea pig cage to boot, the Ona gel is the only thing I smell.

Have just purchased The Neutralizer have not tested it yet, as the smell is not to much yet. Will be posting back if it works or not once i test it, but looks promising.

The home page with a list of distributors is here http://www.theneutralizer.eu/home-s1.html

Little info out there about it, found two promising reviews in Spanish edition of Soft Secrets newpapers (Spanish language).

Well should be a week or two and will be having to fire it up anyway, and will see if it really works.

This looks really good, I will have to check it out!!

How much is it? I dont have the time right now to e mail any distrubutors to ask them about a price so if someone could write it here I would be glad.

Cheers guys for this, you made me very happy scrappy.

Yeah am looking forward to checking it out, i got the compact model as is only for 1 plant, in a 2mx2m room. Worth noting to get best performance from it, you need to supply a good airflow more info is on the sites FAQ.

Looks to retail at €60 for the compact at most European shops, and €95 for the full size, refills are €27.50 and €40 respectively. The cheapest i found them was at servovendi, with domestic postage added, was still cheaper than retail.

Compact Model €49.90 - http://www.servovendi.com/es/sistem...or-the-neutralizer-compact-kit-tnck-220.html#

Compact Refill €24.90 - http://www.servovendi.com/es/cartuc...or-the-neutralizer-compact-tnck-220-40ml.html

Standard Model €79.90 - http://www.servovendi.com/es/sistem...co-anti-olor-the-neutralizer-kit-tnk-120.html

Standard Refill €34.90 - http://www.servovendi.com/es/cartuc...ispensador-the-neutralizer-tnk-120-100ml.html

They come with one refill that is supposed to be good for 5-6 weeks, the only difference between the two models is the area thay can cover, with the compact said to be good for 15-20 m[SUP]2 [/SUP]and the standard 375 m[SUP]2[/SUP]

I've the full size or pro version and have no complaints..the refills cost £39 but are good for 6 weeks continuous use and the other half loves the smell so my unit is on virtually continuously.

Airflow is important but I generally seal the room, Windows and doors shut, do the chopping with the unit on and once finished leave the room sealed for an hour with the unit on and then open windows etc...this is what works best for me..

Glad that this is helping my fellow growers..

I would hop on eBay and get a cheap carbon filter and booster fan. You'll be done at 100$ or less. They work great!

Contently frying bacon lol

This plug in sounds good but is it really better than just buying another tub of ona ? I guess you could put the plug in on a small timer to try and maximise even more the time it takes to run out.
