I imagine that I'm not alone in having to harvest a plant inside my home (outside of a smallish grow cabinet) and my biggest problem has always been the reek of freshly cut weed..unfortunately I live on the umpteenth floor with neighbours all over so smell control is my numero uno priority.
The police did a lovely job last year of sending out little scratchcards to half of the UK reminding people what a farm smells like so I dread the chopping phase of the grow process.
I've tried numerous methods over the years to counter the smell of harvesting/trimming... ona , febreeze, candles , coffee machine on continuously , frying bacon, ozone generators etc but nothing has really done the job effectively until now.
A friend in Spain recommend that I try a product called the neutralizer, effectively essential oils which are heated in a plug in unit with each cartridge last for 6 weeks continuously. I won't post a link but easily found on Google.
The unit and cartridge were pricey and to be honest, I thought I'd been ripped off when I first opened the box but I've been using this for the past two harvests and am very, very impressed at its ability to not just mask the smell but also it's odour absorption without being so overpowering as to shout "hey there's weed being chopped in there".
I can now safely chop and trim a plant in a closed off room with no worries and after an hour, you would hardly know that I'd just chopped three monster plants in there.
In no way am I employed or a salesman for the product but only sharing a discovery (after years of searching and angst) which may help others who suffer with the pain of paranoia at harvest time.
Would love to hear what others do to mask the reek (asides from chopping in the tent).
Before this discovery, fried bacon sandwiches were the best at masking the reek which meant harvest in the kitchen. One day I cooked over 30 rashers one after the other, eating God knows how many sandwiches to the extent that I couldn't face another sliver of bacon for months.
