Does soil used and nutes also affect the smell? All my grows have the same sort of smell to them dispite being different strains...smoke different but not alot of difference in smell imo

That's a really good question. I am eager to see what people say. I decided a while back to experiment with pineapple extract to see if it could add citrus flavor to the plants and it did. Just like one guy I know who decided to put fish guts in his soil in the last 3 weeks. The stuff smelled like fish.. Lesson learned.

Yes! Yes! Yes it does! I grow indoor(non-organic) and outdoor(organic) and the same strains always have a different taste and smell about them. The organic mix I use always gives an earthy flavor and aroma to the strains due to bat guano, and the non-organic liquid just ends up tasting clean. There are all sorts of flavor adders and sweeteners out there (mostly molasses or pineapple based) that will lend into the taste and smell of your plants. :smokebuds:

Hmmm that's making me think I should start using non organic nutes...all mine certainly smell earthy

I trade seeds. All that get mine I've noticed different taste smell. Some not even recognizable as "mine".
We all grow different in many ways. I think it all effects the plant.
