I love the high deserts of southern california. I have a candle foot chart on my old hard drive, and if you can control the temps, there's enough light in SoCal to grow in a greenhouse all year round. I saw pics of a 400 acre desert grow on the Mexican Baja, they were using black camo netting to filter out some of the rays and cool it down. The Federales found it and busted the growers tho.
 
And people think e bay land is worthless , seems you found the best way to use your surroundings...if its that private go nuts
