Hi all,

Bought some bone, blood, fish and potash of sulphate. Going to mix this with compost and perlite and add a layer onto the top of the soil.

Does anyone know if cannabis will grow new roots from the stem that becomes covered in soil/will the roots migrate into the new soil?

Thanks,
Megrow

Yes they will. Be careful with the blood and bone meals, too much will burn.

Only time will tell if I got the mix right!

About 5:5:3:1
Perlite : soil : fish, blood and bone : potash of sulphate

Added about an inch to the pot up to the cotyledons

That seems a little hot to me, especially with seedlings. Lets see what @hecno thinks.

I regularly transplant seedlings into the next pot and bury the root ball deeper so that the new soil line goes past the cotyledons and up towards the first set of true leaves. I've never had an issue with wilting of the stem but you would want to watch moisture content at first until the newly buried stalk has developed 'woody layer' in epidermis.
In theory roots can grow from newly buried stem as this is what happens with clones.

One of the plants is now "tacoing" - Im pretty sure I way over watered (the tray was full and pot poured out lots when I removed tray), do you think this could be the problem and do u think it will resolve?

The smaller plant (same age) looks fine

Have removed the tray and got fan pointing and soil/plant and have fully opened door to bring humidity down.

Thanks!
