New Grower Soil vs hydro Questions

You can get creative with your soil and still use a super soil. You just need to set your pot up so that the first soil your plant hits with its roots is mild soil and then out around the outside of your pot you have your more Super soil. It would take a little bit of experience getting it figured out, for the proper ratios but I think that would accomplish what you would like.

I do have a few free seeds coming to me that aren’t autoflower so I may still try the super soil on them. Just gotta find a good mix up and figure out how to make smaller batches cause I’m finding mixes for like 30 gallons and 50 gallons and I don’t need more the 15 at a shot. I’m just figuring this out don’t need 30+ gallons of super soil sitting around for two or three months lol. Once I figure it all out I’ll probably make big batches. I know I’m probably being pickey about it just don’t have a lot of space to store a lot of extra soil

There are a few guys around here mixing their own soils and always happy to lend advice. Unfortunately, I'm stoned enough right now but I just can't recall their names. However, you could just drop into live stoners ask few questions I'm pretty sure you'd find a couple right in there.

Am I missing something or would it be easy to make a 5 gallon batch of soil if you have the recipe for 50 gallons?

Like divide all ingredients by 10? Lol.

Yes I do have those and I have been considering soil or coco just looking at my options. I mainly posted this to see if super soil was a good idea. I love the concept of not having to mess with nuits and just focus on the plant. Then I read it’s not good for autoflower so I was hoping to find something similar. But if my hydro does well I’m staying with that cause the last grow went well tell about two months in before I switched to flower I got a white/clear slim and I don’t know why and nothing I did got it to go away. So now instead to tap water I’m using distilled water and cutting out sm90 just running my GH trio and cal mag, I got a way better air pump and new air stones and tubing, plus instead of painted black 15 gallon tote with tin foil around it I have black 5 gallon buckets so trying to prevent any light. So I’ve taken a few extra steps this time.

Bro if you can get the white 5 gallon buckets and lids to go on the outside of the black buckets you will be much better off, the black on the inside will keep it nice and dark but the white on the outside will deflect the light and also black attracts light so you don't want the buckets to be this colour on the outside, also you want to get iceline tubes or the US equivalent as again they are white on outside and black on the inside which again keeps the res cool, you are spot on about the pump though, more air the better!

My first try ever and using dwc... Did some wrong Whit mixing nutes at The start. So far i think dwc is easy, little more controlling ph each Day. 3v and 2 days old northenlight auto

I just ordered 20m of IceLine to replace the black tubing in my DWC setup I used for my first grow.
I will also be gluing Mylar Sheeting to the top of the pots - possibly wrapping the entire pots in it.
Rez temperature is a Biatch due to everything being black
